Different trends and examples of shoes

These are just a few of the trends for fall and winter of 2009. At the bottom are my personal favorites to wear this time of the year.

Grey

Fall is the perfect time to buy new shoes that will carry you all through winter. It's time to forget about sandals and move on to bigger and better things!

Grey is a great color for fall. Sounds boring, but with an interesting texture or feature it remains classy, but is still exciting to look at! This embellished flat is grey and sparkly, and could easily carry over into the winter season looking festive at parties, but also low key enough to wear on more than one occasion.

Over-The-Knee

Over-The-Knee boots are back again this fall and for good reason! They are very good looking when worn correctly. I would recommend avoiding the overly slouchy styles, as well as steering clear of the stiff straight styles. A slightly relaxed look, as shown with the Furlong Boot. This will keep you from looking like a street walker or a big sloppy mess. Avoid boots with the faux sock on top... It becomes apparent that it is not a true sock the second time you wear the boots. Just go buy yourself some nice socks!

Purple

Purple has been gaining in popularity and will likely continue to be a big hit because of it's ability to work well with the fall and winter color palettes. It also works well with spring and summer, and if you find the right kind of shoe, say, a ballet flat or cut-out booty, that can be worn year round, you may just find investing in a good purple shoe is worth your time!
