Are You Prepared For A Cyber War?

Cyber warfare is an eminent threat to the United States of America. It isn't something to take lightly and it isn't a conspiracy theory. It is such a prevalent threat that the U.S. government has spent over 100 million dollars in the last six months, to ward off cyber terrorism. Technology is fantastic tool when it is in the hands of the right person but can be deadly if used misappropriately. A Cyber attack can compromise any computer that connects to the internet and other various information systems.

Cyber Warfare seems like something out of a science fiction plot but what we see in the movies, can be reality at any moment. The biggest threats are those that deal with our infrastructure, like our power grids and refineries. In both 2005 and in 2007 reports confirm that Brazil's power system was disrupted by a cyber attack. Last week the power went out in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero leaving 20 million people in the dark. This type of an attack can happen on American soil at any given point. Are you prepared for a cyber war?

As you say, technology can be good and also bad. Hopefully our government will stay on top of any threats and keep the "bad guys" from becoming successful. Am I ready? Who truly is ready to live with the consequences?
