Ovarian cysts and PCOS (defined below), are very common and often painful conditions. They produce a variety of symptoms that can make life miserable. Below is a brief explanation of the problem but just as importantly, a description of the powerful Ovarian Cysts No More System.

What are ovarian cysts?

In the ovaries there are follicles, small fluid-filled sacs that normally develop into eggs during ovulation. But, under certain conditions, follicles may migrate to the surface of the ovaries but fail to release an egg. These follicles become cysts (a follicle larger than 2 cm) and grow larger with each menstrual cycle. While most cysts are harmless (only 15 cases per 100,000 are cancerous), some cysts may bleed or cause pain, sometimes excruciating pain. And even though they can affect women of all ages, ovarian cysts most commonly develop among women in their childbearing years.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a metabolic, hormonal, ovulation and insulin disorder-related condition.

PCOS affects 1 in 10 women.

In a normal menstrual cycle, follicles grow on the ovaries, and eggs develop within the follicles. Eventually, one of those eggs reaches maturity sooner than the other eggs and is released into the fallopian tubes. The other unmatured follicles then dissolve back into the ovary.

However, under certain conditions, such as those caused by genetics, hormonal imbalances and insulin resistance, the ovaries are larger than normal. In these cases, there are several follicles that do not reach maturity. Instead they appear in clumps, known as polycystic ovaries. Women with PCOS also experience an array of symptoms, also referred to as a syndrome.

While a woman can have polycystic ovaries without suffering from PCOS - they do not have the symptoms that make up the syndrome - all women with PCOS have polycystic ovaries. PCOS is a complex condition resulting from the disruption of basic body functions. Since the human body is like an exceedingly complex finely-tuned machine, a disruption in one area inevitably leads to problems in other areas. This is why it is important to treat PCOS and ovarian cysts as a systemic disorder rather than treat it as a problem concerned solely with your ovaries. In other words, all the parts of the body not functioning properly must be addressed, not just the ovaries.

The True Cause of PCOS and Ovarian Cysts

In the vast majority of chronic health conditions, including PCOS and ovarian cysts, there is no such thing as a single cause. Because health problems are multidimensional, the solution must be as well, in order to eradicate the problem from the root. Thus we find science and conventional medicine failing miserably at treating most western afflictions: they focus on the symptoms or the parts instead of treating the body as a unified whole.

The five primary factors that lead to PCOS and ovarian cysts:

  • Genetic predisposition
  • Poor dietary choices
  • Insulin resistance and obesity
  • Weakened immune system
  • Accumulation of toxins in the digestive tract (including environmental toxins)

(Now you can see why this is so common. How many women do you know who doesn't have 2 or more of these factors present?) Unfortunately, these factors create an ideal environment for PCOS that manifests as ovarian cysts, among various other symptoms. Also contributing to PCOS and the formation of ovarian cysts are hormonal imbalances (such as during menstruation), taking antibiotics, prescription medications and steroids, stress and lack of sleep.
