DELL, the major provider of Laptop have introduced an new Studio 14Z Notebook. One of the thinnest and lightest notebooks revealed. Its really Good Laptop for Money. The Studio 14z is the thinnest and lightest 14-inch notebook Dell has ever produced, promising more than 6 hours of battery life, powerful video performance, and available in more than 120 different designs just in time for back-to-school season. Also it has an very interesting feature FailSafe Laptop Theft Protection - Protects your Secure data against thiefs.

Phoenix Failsafe

        Dell proclaims that this machine is the industry's first consumer notebook with Phoenix FailSafe theft protection, which enables owners to track network information and the ISP location of the laptop when it connects to the Internet, and to remotely erase selected files/render the laptop useless until it's returned to its rightful owner. Of course, this won't stop anyone from taking it, but it'll sure make 'em think twice before taking another.

Other Features

The Studio 14z features a 14 inch high definition display, Core 2 Duo processors, up to 5 GB of RAM, and up to a 500 GB hard drive. Like a full sized laptop it has a full-sized keyboard and respectable processing power. Like a netbook, it lacks an optical drive and is relatively slim.

It will come in a range of colors, including Promise Pink, Spring Green, and Ruby Red, as well as more than 120 designs from the Dell Studio collection, available in July.

The laptop is available now online for a starting price of $649 and comes with a one-year limited warranty.

It has a lot to be liked, but I wish it has a built-in media card reader and a tv tuner for the space save by making it optical-driveless. Optical drives are most likely the first component to to break in a pc.
