EAT RIGHT

Diarrhoea and Constipation are the most
common intestine illnesses.

So what is the right type of diet or what
should you eat to help treat them?

Diarrhoea is caused by allergies, parasites,
infections, medicines as a side effect and
drinking dirty water. Diarrhoea is sometimes
dangerous but most of the times it leads to
weight loss due to the fact that food does not
stay in long enough to be properly digested
and absorbed.

To help you, try these useful tips;
  • Find out what was the cause of your illness and take the correct solution. For example;
> If your water source is not good make
sure you boil drinking water
> If you ate a certain food that gave you
the diarrhoea avoid eating it in future
because you are allergic.
> If it was a medicine that your doctor or
 drug store gave you that caused the diarrhoea
 or constipation ask them to prescribe or let
you try another next time.

  • Eat 4-8 cloves of garlic a day because it acts as an antibiotic to kill infections.

  • Drink ORS- Sugar + Salt + water to replace minerals lost.

  • Drink a lot of fluid to replace water lost.

  • Avoid fatty foods, cold foods and milk products.

  • Eat spices such as ginger, cloves and cinnamon. Drink rooibos tea and eat yoghurt.

  • Eat foods such as watermelon, pumpkins, white bread toasted, papaya, banana and potatoes.

  • Did you know that eating rice helps to cure diarrhoea?

  • Did you know that eating apples cures constipation as well as diarrhoea?

Thank you for reading. Take care of yourself and may
God bless you always.

My motto: "Always eat right to live healthy".
