As I ponder what to write, one of my "pet peeves" comes to mind.

Through the years and conversations about relationships with both males and females, one particular statement seems to provoke me into jumping onto my soapbox and question the intelligence of the person who fell for the statement and the person making the statement. This statement has been around for years, generally made by a female to a male in a sexually active relationship. Drum roll please...

"I'm not on birth control, it's against my religion."

My instant response is, "Huh? And what religion would that be that allows premarital sex but not birth control?" I'm still waiting for the name of that religion...

Finally after 20 years of asking. I have named this new religion that promotes premarital sex but disallows the use of birth control... "Manipulation."

My advise to men who receive this line is simple... "Run!" Do not stop, do not look back. It is a trap."
