YES! We Too Can Grow Long Hair!

How Can I Maintain the Hair Growth in between Relaxers?

Have you ever wondered why you don't have long hair ? We do see "regrowth" at the roots all the time. You might even be like me who gets a little excited at the sight of growth of hair in between relaxers.

The disappointing thing is that we never see much difference in our hair after all. Where does the hair go? That is my question. I don't have the exact answer but i recently discovered now how to prevent it from disappearing.

Well, according to many articles i read on hair growth, we don't see much difference because before the regrown hair matures, it breaks and we lose it. This is due to the dry texture of our hair. The solution to that problem is truly simple. It's about avoiding dryness in the hair and the scalp. If the scalp is moisturized, the hair at the roots will be moisturized. If the hair itself is moisturized, we will see less breakage. One advice is to keep the tip of the hair healthy.

The tip of the hair is very critical in retaining the grown hair on your head. It's not surprising that beauticians and other hair experts always stress on trimming hair. Damaged hair tips can cause a lot of breakage because they tangle and break easily. Since the hair tip is very fragile, maintaining it healthy is important to help grow longer hair. So moisturizing your hair from root to tip is highly recommended. That's the solution. Co-wash your hair!

I came across the pratice of co-washing by watching videos on Youtube. At first, i was like: "What in the world is co-washing"? Now, that I learn and practice it ,i see its benefits and know its importance in my hair regimen.

In case, you are wondering like i used to, yes i will explain what co-washing is.

What is "co-washing"?

Co-washing is simply washing your hair with conditioner. The purpose is to add moisture to your hair. Shampoo cleanses your hair and scalp, as a result it leaves your hair dry and takes out its natural moisture. That is why you need a conditioner to back it up.

When you co-wash, you should use a good hydrating conditioner. You can damp your hair before application. I myself prefer applying the conditioner to dry hair because that way i know that I am adding maximum moisture without water.

  1. Aplying the conditioner,
  2. Wrap your hair with a plastic cap,
  3. Tie your hair with a scarf to increase the concentration.
  4. After one hour, rinse it out while massaging your scalp.

You can then proceed with a leave-in conditioner and add your usual products before drying your hair. The key is to not use shampoo at all to make sure that the hydrating ingredients of the conditioner remain in your hair to keep it soft and moisturized. You will experience less breakage if not at all.

i like to step my co-washing a little by adding oil to the conditioner. After rinsing all out, not only the hair is well hydrated but my moisturized scalp make it easy for the comb to go through my hair.

If you include co-washing into your regimen, you will be able to retain a lot of hair growth.

Please send me your questions, I'll answer promptly so you can start aplying these tips.

Hair Confessions

All my life, I have been searching for some kind of miracle hair product that would stop hair breakage and accelerate hair growth magically.

Well, there isn't such a thing, but, hair will stop shedding and will grow if you develop a good hair treatment for yourself. To achieve your goals, whatever it may be - finer, longer, fuller, natural hair, etc- create a successful hair regimen and have a strong dedication to it.

Now, ladies by successful regimen, I am talking about you encountering products you love and are good for your hair. I suggest that you follow theses simple steps to build up your hair regimen.

1) Spend a while finding the products that best fits your hair type. You will need:
- an hydrating shampoo
- an hydrating and/or anti-breakage conditioner
- an leave-in conditioner
- a protein conditioner
2) Once you make your choices and develop a regimen, STICK TO IT!

It is very important to stick to your new regimen to see progress. You cannot try it once or twice and expect to see results right away. Again, there is no magical hair products! Ladies, you have to give your hair a chance to adopt the product to see good results. The mix -and- match games we play with our hair have not paid back, have it?

How to Develop a Regimen?

That is personal, it should be based on your schedule and your weekly activities. You each know which days of the week are more convenient for you. It's up to you to pick a day of the week. Then you should:

1) Wash your hair weekly, to avoid chemical build up on your scalp for too long.

2) Repeat your routine every week to be consistent with your regimen. Your routine should be something like a shampoo/conditioner/leave-in conditioner combo.
Styling sprays, wrapping creams and the like are things that you may decide to add.

3) Read and follow the directions from your hair products labels.

4) As for the protein conditioner, you should apply it two to three times a month. Hair protein products are very good to maintain your hair healthy. However, its overuse may cause damage. Avoid overloading your hair with protein because it will become too rich-meaning it will be hard and will shed instead of stopping breakage.

But, keep in mind that a protein treatment every now and then will make your hair strong and stop breakage.

I hope this first tips were helpful! Let's talk and come back for more!

Hair Product Review

Welcome everyone!

I  am so eager to share one of my favorite products with you. The product brand that  I adopted for my regimen is phenomenal for my hair. I thought of writing a review and  requesting your opinions on the products. Your questions are greatly welcomed as well.

The Aphogee line is my favorite hair product, I have followed other people use it and seen great results so i tried it for myself and adopted it right way for my regimen. I have semi-coarse, short hair. My hair breaks all the time and has been thin for as long as i can remember.

I started using Aphogee by trying  their 2-Step Protein Treatment. After monitoring my hair for a month, i realized how good it is for my hair because it stopped breaking and has strenght now. The look is definetely fuller because it is noticeable. Their conditioner treatment is great also because it improves manegeability and  leaves the hair stronger.

There is no doubt that after such changes, my hair has grown a little and I  am able to retain my new growth. I know that it is already a popular product and that there are many posistive reviews about it .  What I would like is to open a discussion on the Aphogee line and other products that works for you.

These discussion should help you get accointed with many hair products and also help many  Ladies pick products to start on their own hair regimen.

Send me your opinions!

With Warm Smiles,

Dafina
