Daily Attendance For Disney World - When Should You Go?
The annual attendance to Magic Kingdom is estimated around 16 million, with Epcot following closely at almost 10 million, and Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM) and Animal Kingdom about 8 to 9 million.
It is interesting to compare that the opening day attendance for Magic Kingdom back in 1971 on October 1st was about 10,000. What a difference! And the ticket price? A mere $3.50. Wow.
That is truly amazing to think about. These days you might pay $3.50 just to get a soda.
Another interesting fact is Walt Disney World is about 30,500 acres, roughly the same size as San Francisco.
So the question is, with all these people making their way to the theme park on a daily basis, when is the daily attendance for Disney World at its lowest?
Well first I'll tell you when to absolutely NOT go. Do not get in your car or get on a plane and head over to Disney on Spring Break. As fun as it may sound, waiting for 2 hours for each ride is not too much fun.
Instead, try going over between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, or between Thanksgiving and mid December.
I also enjoy going to the park in January and February because the weather will make you jump up and down with glee. It is truly wonderful.
Daily attendance for Disney World is again at its worst during any long holiday weekend. Ugh! I just hate lines. To be honest, I really don't think they have a true "off season" but if you try to follow the outline above it can help. The 5 or 6 weeks prior to Spring Break should be pretty good too.
I truly love to visit Disney World and I hope you can go and have a grand time.
