America's team, the one we all learned to watch and love, has turned its season around, and not in a good way. Five weeks into the season, the Dallas Cowboys were on top of the NFC East with a record of 4-1. Today people are saying that they might not even make it to the playoffs. So what really happened in one week that has caused those predictions? Well, let's start with the obvious. Dallas lost a heartbreaking overtime game against the Arizona Cardinals and dropped to a 4-2 record. During the first play of overtime, quarterback Tony Romo was sacked and broke his pinky finger on his throwing hand. He will be out at least 4 weeks. During the last play of overtime (and the play that sealed the win for Arizona), punter Mat Mcbriar fractured his foot and will miss the next 6 games. Let's take a look at their off the field problems. After signing problem child Adam "Pacman" Jones from the Tennessee Titans, Jones was involved in yet another altercation that landed him a 4 week suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodel. Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones is not sure he may want to keep Jones after those 4 weeks (that is if Goodel even allows him back in the NFL). Room for panic? When you are America's most talented team, and you have not won a single playoffs game since 1996, I think so. The cowboys are in the toughest division in football, and with key injuries and a tough starch of games coming up, they will have to prove to everyone that they can stay alive for the playoffs.
