Dan Brown, author of the famous, (or notorious--depending on your point-of-view) The DaVinci Code, said recently in an interview that in his research for the book, which took him to obscure 1st century Greek and Aramaic sources, that in fact, the woman who was thought to be closest to Jesus and possibly even his wife, did in fact wear boyshorts.

When asked about it, at his home in Switzerland, Brown said:

"Well, it surprised me just like it would surprise anyone, but when I read the gnostic gospel of Mani in the original Aramaic, it clearly said something to the effect 'then Mary,from Magdalene, did go and visit Haifa  where she procured clothing including a pair of boyshorts for the journey...' so how can you dispute it?'

Brown is expected, having made this discovery, to begin a new book detailing what the other disiples wore--he already has strong opinions that Luke like boxers and Judas Escariot wore a thong.

But we will have to wait until his next book comes out to see his other conclusions.
