Dancing In The Moonlight
62
There you stand outside at the masquerade ball,
the mask conceals a face of beauty.
Light is your mood while
darkness settles against the sky.
The moonlight illuminates your figure
while the shadows creep near.
The wind howls like a wolf,
and yet the breeze is barely felt
and your smile is but a ray of sunshine.
Your hand is delicate and light,
Graceful like a swan as I
Twirl you around in circles,
the fairies dance in the moonlight.
Round and round,
laughter and joy go hand in hand
as the wind fades away into nothingness.
Soon, it will be over
and you will leave my dream.
For as peaceful as you entered my mind,
heaven is calling you back.
So away you go into the night,
far away from mortal eyes.
I know you'll come some other time
as you smile and float away.
