Dancing With The WHO?! - Season 8's DWTS Line-up
57The season 8 cast of Dancing with the Stars has been revealed. Hold onto your seats because this season's line-up is more star packed than ever! Do keep in mind that I use the term "star" very, very loosely. When the all-star cast features more than one couple, and several "celebrities" that require a Google search to uncover their claims to fame, then you can definitely deduce that ABC is scraping the bottom of the celebrity barrel to find their stars. And without further ado, here is season 8's cast...
- Lil' Kim - Sure, she is a well-known platinum selling rapper, but let's face it, these days she is better known for her nipple pasties and plastic surgery debacles.
- Steve-O - Best known for his appearances in the Jackass TV shows and movies, and for his TV show Wildboyz, Steve-O's likely antics on DWTS will surely make last season's Cloris Leachman look like a Disney tween. Censors! Ready your black bars.
- Nancy O'Dell - This mild-mannered entertainment reporter's Dancing stint will likely be described in the same manner as Leeza Gibbons'...unmemorable.
- Lawrence Taylor - This NFL hall-of-famer could quickly emerge as one of the stand-out favorites. With his bevy of sports fans, and the well-known successes of Dancing's past athletes at his back, he may be one to watch.
- Shawn Johnson - This pint-sized Olympic gymnast is my early pick for season 8's dancing queen. She stands out as the show's youngest contestant ever, but she falls into a long line of successful Olympic athletes who have performed well on Dancing.
- Chuck Wicks - This country singer is a member of one of two couples on this seasons DWTS. Wicks is the boyfriend of two-time Dancing champion Julianne Hough, who is also his dancing partner. It was my understanding that contestants weren't supposed to have any prior professional dance experiences...my guess? He's had plenty.
- Gilles Marini - Before his break-out role in Sex and the City, Marini was a French soldier and fireman. He is sure to be a favorite among the ladies, and some gents. Besides, if is acting career doesn't pan out he can always do calendar work. Ready the fire hose!
- Denise Richards - Sure, she was once married to Charlie Sheen and was once a Bond girl, but in Heather Locklear's household is only referred to by her pet name, Homewrecker.
- Steve Wozniak - "Who?" you might be asking, just as I did. Why, the co-founder of Apple and a philanthropist, of course. My money is on Wozniak as the first one booted off of Dancing. Who knows, maybe he'll develop some sort of iPhone application to help his cause.
- Belinda Carlisle - As lead singer of the Go-Go's this 80's rock chick had numerous hits, but on Dancing my guess is that it won't be long before she "go-go's".
- David Alan Grier - As a comedian, his chances for Dancing success rank right up there with the likes of Adam Carolla and Penn Jillette. With those odds his Dancing days are numbered just like the days of his Comedy Central show Chocolate News.
- Ty Murray - This professional bull-rider and rodeo athlete is one-half of the second DWTS couple. He is the husband of fellow contestant Jewel. Murray has been labeled the "King of the Cowboys," but can be become the King of the Dance Floor? Maybe, but I am certain it will take longer than eight seconds.
- Jewel - She is a singer/songwriter who is well-known for her multi-platinum selling albums, but depending on who you talk to, her DWTS debut solidifies her status as a sell-out. She is also the wife of season 8 contestant Ty Murray.
