Daniel Radcliffe, the Harry Potter series star turned 18 on Monday, 23rd July, 2007. And gained access to a whopping 20 million pounds and growing, fortune. Till then, his earnings from the first five Harry Potter movies were held in a trust fund, which he has not even been able to touch.

His first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Titled as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the United States) was released in 2001. Daniel starred in all the four subsequent Harry Potter films already released. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in 2005 and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix released in 2007. The sixth and seventh films, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are expected to be released in November 2008 and sometime in 2010 respectively. All the movies are adapted from the Harry Potter Series of books by the highly successful author JK Rowling.The films as well as the books raked in millions and continues to do so at the box office worldwide.

However, to the disappointment of gossip columnists worldwide, the young star is keeping his feet firm on the ground. Despite his growing riches and fame, he has no plans to squander his wealth away on drinks, celebrity parties and fast cars!.

According to an interview earlier this month, he doesn't want to be one of those people who, as soon as they turn 18, buy themselves a massive sports car collection or have wild extravagant celebrity parties or something similar. I guess he has innumerable examples in front of him, to not to folow, of child stars throwing it all away once they reach adulthood.

"People are always looking forward to say, 'the kid star goes off the rails!', but I try very hard not to go that way because it would be too easy for them". The things I like buying are that costs about 10 Pounds - books, CDs and DVDs. I don't think I will be particularly extravagant", he told the media last month.

His latest release Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix is breaking the box office records worldwide. But for Daniel radcliff there is life beyond Potter the boy wizard. He will be appearing in the Australian movie December Boys which is about four boys who escape an orphanage and he has already made a TV movie about the author Rudyard Kipling and his son, totled My Boy Jack. Earlier this year he made his stage debut in Peter Shaffer's Equus, as a tortured teenager.
