Introduction

Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova qualified for a top university in her country but decided to follow tennis as a career.

When she was a teenager she went to the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in the USA to train.

Her best result at a grand slam event was the semi-final last year at the Australian Open and her best ranking was number 5 which she obtained in January 2003.

Daniela also recently posed in the Sports Illustrated 2009 Swimsuit Edition together with Maria Kirilenko and Tatiana Golovin.
