I was wondering what to do with my semi-sweet chocolate chips in my pantry one evening and at the same time I wanted to have something that would satisfy my chocolate cravings. I thought why not bake a dark chocolate bread, that also gave me an idea to add ripe bananas. So yummy!

Set oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper or you can use a cooking spray to grease the loaf pan.

Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon and salt just to make sure there will be no lumps. Beat sugar and eggs with a whisk until light and fluffy, then add the vegetable oil, mashed bananas and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients. Pour into the loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Ingredients:

1 & 2/3 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup dutch cocoa

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 eggs

2 bananas, very ripe, mashed
