Dating in a Las Vegas recession can be very difficult but we have mentioned a few affordable options. We would be interested in hearing your advice too. So leave us a comment when you are finished reading this. I usually invite my dates out for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is one of the most affordable meals you can get. Traditionally you can go to any hotel and get a real nice breakfast for under $10.00. Lunch is a great option as well. One of my favorite places is BJ’s because they have a lunch menu that starts at 11:00am and you get a huge selection and nice portions for under $10.00. I like to order the blackened or grilled salmon it comes with rice pilaf and vegetables for under $10.00. I usually order just water to keep the price down.

If you are not an early riser and don’t do breakfast or lunch, how about happy hour. I like to go to Town Square Mall in Las Vegas because of the great atmosphere and all the wonderful places to go. Trust me your date will be very impressed with Town Square Mall. They have a beautiful courtyard with a bridge and a tremendous view. They have a great selection of restaurants, clubs, shops and Rave Motion Theater. A great spot for happy hour at Town Square Mall is The Blue Martini Night Club. They offer happy hour from 3-8 weekdays and all the food and drinks are half price. My favorite dish on the menu is the Swiss Chicken, comes with jasmine rice and costs about $5.00 during happy hour. The Blue Martini is also one of the premier spot for the ladies. Wednesdays are ladies night and it’s always a nice turnout.

Another affordable to way of dating in a Las Vegas recession is to find a festival. The Las Vegas Culture Fest, The San Gennaro Festival, The Greek Food Festival are all very popular with lots of free entertainment. Invite your date to one of these events and you save money but you will get extra points for being informed.  The festivals usually last all day and take place for a couple of days.  Lake Las Vegas is not a festival but they offer Jazz in the park during the summer.  Lake Las Vegas is a great romantic spot with lots of free entertainment.

You can also take your date to one of the hotels and see a live band. Las Vegas is famous for live stage shows that are free and very entertaining. You can dance, drink and party all night. Another of my best kept secrets is the little lounge inside Caesars’ Palace, Cleopatra's Barge luxurious floating lounge. It’s small but a great place to dance without trying to stand in line at one of the more popular night clubs. So if you’re going to see a concert at The Coliseum at Caesar Palace then you can walk right across to Cleopatra’s Barge and continue your evening. You might want to check the listings and see what bands are performing on what night to make sure their playing your song!
