David Beckham has made it publicly known that after his MLS contract is up he plans to own an MLS team. Beckham has his sights set on The Montreal Impact and has spoken with Impact owner Joey Supato about a partial ownership to enter The Impact into the MLS in 2012 or 2013.

Beckhams contract with the MLS has a clause in which he can own a team as soon as 2012. Beckham made public his interest yesterday and admitted to speaking with the montreal camp. Saputo says that he has spoken to a potential partener for MLS ownership of the now USL club, but he refuses to say who is showing interest.
