David Blaine show Street Magic was very popular in the 90's. If you haven't seen this guy, look him up. His magic is mindboggling! In Street Magic Blaine walks every day streets performing his magic for the average joe.
David Blaine was born "David Blaine White" on August 4, 1973. New York Daily News refers to Blaine at the "Houdini Wanna-Be". Over time he grew from small displays of magic to larger publicised sets. His interest in magic began at age 4. Growing up he heavily researched magic. As a teen he worked as a actor in commercials and soap operas. Early on he attended parties with celebrities and began perfoming his magic tricks. World traveled fast because his illusions were personal and intriguing.
Blaine has performed a wide range of illusions that have made him one of the most popular magicians in the world. He awed audiences by:
- April 1999 - Entomed in a plastic box under three tons of water in a tank for seven days.
- November 2000 - He spent 63 hours, 42 minutes and 15 seconds encased in ice.
- May 2002 - He was lifted onto a 100 ft. tall 22" wide pillar where he stood for 35 hours.
- October 2002 - His book Mysterious Stranger: A Book of Magic is released.
- September 2003 - Suspended 30 ft in air sealed inside plexiglass case for 44 days.
- May 2006 - Sumerged inside a 8 foot water filled sphere for 7 minutes.
- November 2006 - Shackeled to a rotating gyroscope for 52 hours.
In September 2008, Blaine was widely criticized for his stunt known as "Dive of Death". In the stunt he was to be suspended upside down for 60 hours. He was later seen by fans as standing on a crane and not upside down as expected. According to reports he took a break every hour in order to stretch his legs, have a medical check and to relieve himself.
Whether you like him or not, one this is for sure - he is captivating.

I'm not into big time illusionists. Everyone knows it is all slight og hand on a big scale. The real talent are the engineers he hires to create the illusion.
