David William Duchovny was born August 7, 1960 in New York, NY. Standing 6" tall, David is known for his cleft chin and puppy dog eyes. He received his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and started his graduate studies in English Literature at Yale. In 1987 he began acting in off-Broadway plays, at which time he abandoned his doctoral studies at Yale. Duchovny speaks French, Latin and Hebrew and was a former colleigete basketball player. He currently lives in Malibu, CA with wife and fellow actor Tea Leoni, 6-year-old son Kyd Miller, and 9-year old daughter Madelaine West. He has two Golden Globes, one each for The X-Files and Californication.
