David Icke? So what do you think?
I was never interested in football or sport so David Icke's early career as a footballer and sports commentator was of no interest to me and when I saw a headline saying he had discovered he was a " new messiah" I still thought I could do without finding out anything more. However, after I saw David in his "turquoise period," dressed in a shell-suit of the same colour on Terry Wogan's primetime TV show that was all to change.
David was talking about stuff that I knew about or had an interest in and Wogan's efforts to ridicule him if anything made me more an instant fan. David had gone through an awakening and had written all about his strange experiences and his ideas about changes taking place on this planet in his book The Truth Vibrations back in 1991. I sent off for it, quickly read it finding that much of it made sense to my understanding and I wrote to him to say so.
After that I kept in touch at times by letter, by email and met him in person at several talks he gave in Wales. I also bought his books as they came out and followed him on his journey.
I mention this because I think it's important to fully understand David's views and why he has been led into some very bizarre beliefs to have heard his own story. It has been a journey of discovery for him ever since his sports career was ended by crippling arthritis. He sincerely felt that something was very wrong with the world and how it was going. He joined the Green Party in an effort to find out what could be done and rose up quickly in it as a speaker but was just as soon out because did not fit the mould.
It was then that his life started sending him into discovering about psychic and paranormal matters and deep into the world of truthseeking and conspiracy research. Although he knew little about the role of ET and other-dimensional races when he started off he has since become known (and ridiculed) in recent years for talking about the reptilian shapeshifers he claims secretly rule the world.
I remember a letter my friend Chris Fowler sent David shortly after his first book, in which my friend asked him about what he knew about UFOs. David wrote back and confessed he didn't know enough to have any opinion on that but was sure they play a part "in the big picture." I mention that as an example of what I mean about it being a journey of discovery he has been going on.
I have heard plenty of negative opinions about David including from past friends and associates of his as well as very many people who just seem to enjoy having a go at him. One new line of attack is coming from people who claim that because David gets any mainstream media coverage this is proof he is working for "them."
This is simply rubbish - how can anyone hope to reach a maximum amount of people who does not choose to use the media to do so? David knows how to use the media as a tool and is using it. A tool like the media is neither good nor bad but is only a tool. The fact it gets used to broadcast lies and deception and mass manipulation does not mean it can only be used this way!
Speaking of the media, I once saw David speaking in a community hall in Pentwyn, Cardiff against a background of noisy interruption from Anti Nazi Leage demonstrators outside who were also seeking to persuade people from not going in. David has just started talking and some reporters took some photos and made it clear they were going.
He tried to call them back, saying how could they print any news about what he was really saying if they didn't even get to hear it? The news people didn't stay, but it gave David a great example to share with the audience of how the news media works. In this case they had already decided what they'd write about him even though they never heard his lecture.
I have often said and will repeat it here: "I am not here to judge or defend anything David has said or done." David's a human being and I am sure he has his faults and makes his mistakes just like all the rest of us but that has nothing to do with what his books and lectures and videos are about.
There are things I don't agree with him on or are not convinced by but the bulk of his work makes sense to me and for that reason I support David and have bought and read all his books.
I have known for many years that this world is run by a very secretive, fabulously wealthy elite and that these people are occult practitioners even though their public images may not give any clues to that when you see them, if we see them, smartly dressed in suit and tie. Call these people the Babylonian Brotherhood, the cabal, the global elite, the shadow government, the Illuminati or the reptilians - to my mind they are the same beings who have kept us as their prisoners, or as they view us, as their cattle or sheep.
And as David points out Big Brother isn't coming - he is already well and truly here and the Orwellian potential future is coming about fast. But it doesn't have to! The secret controllers of the world are a minority. Yes, they control all the money and the military forces and the politics and the media but they themselves are still a minority and as David said in his first book in 1989, It Doesn't Have To Be Like This.
Anyway, the main point of this hub is to introduce you to three videos by David Icke, in which I cannot find anything that does not make sense to me. The first video was made very recently in his current campaign to stand as a political candidate with the intention not of becoming an MP but of getting info out on Big Brother as fast as possible to the maximum amount of people. The second - The Turning of the Tide - is an older video from 1996 that David personally wants people to see now, and the third video is my personal choice of David at his best and from very early on in his Green Party days.
As it says in his current emailed newsletter appealing for help in getting his videos out to people:
"In a short time through this method of circulation we could have tens of millions of people seeing this information worldwide and make a massive difference to human awareness of what is happening in the world that we daily experience.
Big Brother is terrified of such information circulating, so let's do it as widely as possible all over the world."

Thank you for your great feedback, Alfred!
Steve he is such an idiot! So now he's saying that the current world administration are related to the bloodlines of ancient Sumeria, who were also behind the Roman Empire. See, that's what annoys me. We start of by recognising some sort of a conspiracy - I can agree with that and I see it going on all around me - but then he brings the whole tale crashing down by making such ridiculous assertions, playing directly into the hands of those who would rather we didn't see the conspiracy, thus bringing conspiracy theory into disrepute. You could almost imagine he was being paid to do this, except he's such an idiot I don't think anyone would pay him to do anything. Why were the Anti_Nazi league protesting outside? Because he started referencing the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a known Nazi text. Best case scenario, he's an idiot. Worst case he's either a Nazi himself or is being manipulated by Nazis. I go with the former. He's an idiot.
Well, I think he makes sense most of the time, Chris, and that's why I am helping his current campaign.
I think a lot of people have very valid theories on what is going on secretly in the world around us. Unfortunately, nobody knows for sure what those people are up to, whether they are human, nor what bloodlines they trace back to. The only people that know that are those people themselves. I wouldn't be surprised to find out secret societies, made up of the same families dating back to the Romans, exist and continue to control our masses. I would be surprised to find out that somebody had proof of that. Time blurs so much history for us, and our species' lack of records on itself has really bitten us in the ass on that. If those families do date back that far, rest assured they have their bases covered; plenty of people will go down before they do.
I think the free masons are a great example of a group that a lot of blame has been shifted upon, to take conspiracy-theorists eye away from real groups that are masterminding plots. Not to say all the stuff about them and the D.C. building layouts and our money etc aren't true; it's all true. I just don't think it means anything.
In closing, I don't want to discredit your homie, but I doubt he's got the real story. But big props to him for trying to figure it all out. One thing I will point out, specifically related to him: He's got a publishing company for his books, which means they edit his books and have some say in what he's allowed to talk about. Same thing with T.V. appearances, documentaries, and other media forms. If he's not releasing it himself with his own money, then he's probably only allowed to say certain things. I don't know what that means, but it's food for thought.
Jonno, no Icke publishes himself and says just what he likes, which is part of the problem. I just wish he'd keep quiet sometimes. No offence Steve. I got about half way through this. He says important things, and then mixes it up with a load of codswallop which just discredits all the meaningful stuff he says. And you listen to it carefully: it's all just tiresome self-promotion: "I, I, I" over and over again. He even starts off with a lie, that he ever was a journalist. He was a sport's commentator. He used to do the commentary for the snooker. He was never a journalist. This is where I think he goes wrong. Is there a conspiracy? Of course there is a conspiracy. There is the age-old conspiracy of the very rich to stay very rich which goes back - he's right - to ancient times. It's called greed and it infects us all in some way or another. Are there secret organisations manipulating world events? Of course. The same very rich conspiring to stay very rich. Are they reptilian. Well, yes, sort of, in a metaphorical sense. But are there secret bloodlines who control the world going back to Sumerian times? Oh shut up Icke: you're just plying us with sensationalist garbage in order to sell books. My opinion.
David's books have been published by various companies and are not edited by them. His earlier publishers like Gateway wouldn't take on his later works. His books are all also a massive source of financial trouble and stress for him and legal battles he has been fighting for the last few years. Have a look on his site to see the details of all of this. Basically a guy who used to work helping David later on tried to legally rip him off for all royalties and sales from his own books. After many court battles David is now paying all the money he earns towards legal costs as far as I know.
Chris, he was a reporter for a paper:
"He found a job with a local newspaper in Leicester and became a reporter, moving on to local sports presenter for BBC South's Programme South Today."
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke
Perhaps not a reliable source but it is also in his biography and why I keep saying that unless you follow all the Icke career and story then misunderstandings occur. I have followed it since the first Wogan show as stated here and in doing so I read all his books and the biography by his past astrologer.
Of course he does the I said... and I was... etc because he isn't going to reach anyone if he does the reverse and shows little faith in himself or his work.
Well I think a lot of what he says is correct up to a point. But I think the real problem with power and the real reason why people are happy to be ruled over by an elite and to be sheep is most people need someone to blame and "pass the buck" to. IOW people don't want power and responsibility for running the world. People need someone else to blame, and the elite provide this. In fact they even offer to wash away sins.
Actually it probably shouldn't be a surprise the people who run the planet are often psychopaths and tyrants, or need support groups such as the Bilderberg because the responsibility for running the planet would be too much for anyone with actually had a conscience.
I haven't got to watch it all, but I will. So far I've heard exactly what is said in the movie "Zeitgeist". If you've never seen it, you need to watch it. It's on You Tube.
He's right about one thing. When anyone tries to tell the truth, they're branded as crazy. I've been branded as crazy all my life, but I just laugh and say "Well, at least I'm not boring." Drives them totally mad.
Sanity is the Insanity of the Insane. This meaning, what the world calls "Sanity" is totally crackers in my world! I like my world better.
Thanks Amanda and Dafla, for your thoughts on this.Dafla, yes, I have seen Zeigeist months ago.
what a cool little page, well thought out and good info. Tide is Turning I haven't seen for ages, but he certainly turned a few heads in may area with the bi-election.
Thank you!
Steve, the reference to a reptilian bloodline going back to Sumeria is taken by some people to mean "Jews" which is why the anti-Nazi league demonstrate outside of his meetings. The use of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which was also employed by the Nazis, doesn't help. He's his own worst enemy at times. He is also deeply infected with diffusionist thinking. I told you that story about when I met him, and he accused Karl Marx of being a freemason. Why? Because he belonged to an organisation called The Communist Brotherhood. See? "Brotherhood". The freemasons are a brotherhood, therefore Karl Marx is a freemason. What kind of logic is that?
But can we really stop what is happening? Do most people even realize it needs to be stopped? And if David Icke is considered "crazy", will most people listen to him? I've quit working for three large corporations now because I call their employees "sheep", and that's what they want. They want that "herd mentality" he talks about. Don't ask questions, don't rock the boat, pick up your paycheck and be happy. I can't do that. I'd rather starve. The whole world is getting more and more sinister.
Have you ever seen the movie "Serenity"? It's all sci-fi, but the kicker to the movie is that the government created these "creatures", for lack of a better word, while they were adding something to the gas of a planet to make people less aggressive, more complacent. Most of the people just got pathologically apathetic, and let themselves die. The others became overly aggressive and animalistic, living only to torture and kill their victims. It seems like something that couldn't happen to us, but then, when 1984 came out, they laughed and said THAT would never happen either. And once man said we could never fly, so....
Chris, the Communist Brotherhood along with countless other organisations and brotherhoods are all shown in a pyramid diagram that many others besides Icke use to show how the world is structured and controlled and how those on lower levels cannot know the agenda of those above. There are countless conspiracy sites and books showing this. Right at the top is believed to be a non-human intelligence call it Lucifer, call it the Devil, call it reptilians, call it demonic or whatever, It/they are the masterminds/overseers/captors/controllers of all the rest underneath.
This is standard stuff not just David. The point being that the people in organisations can be completely innocent of what they are in or what power structure they serve. It is alos the hidden hand and the puppetmaster. Icke often points oout tha many Freemasnons haven't a clue what the topmost levels of their brotherhood is about and that there are secret levels above the levels. He points out as do others that it makes no difference whether you or I believe in God/the Devil or wahtver way we may interpret such beings, the people in control of the world believe this stuff and they serve what is at the top.
On the matter of the Jews, David has devoted pages and pages and spoken at length about the reality of the matter being that a majority of people who have called and as descendants call themselves Jews never came from the Biblical regions where they are supposed to come from as Hebrews but were Khazars from southern Russia and The Caucasus who converted to Judaism in the 8th century.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khazars
And Jon Ronson did a long examination of David being in trouble in Canada when he was banned from radio stations and demonstrated against because it was said that he meant Jews when he used the word reptilians. Ronson concluded that David meant and means lizards.
dafla, no, I've not seen that film - I hardly see any films now and no TV at all!
Hi Steve, how's it going with Atlantis?
You realise you are No1 in the Hot Hubs with this?
I know about Jon Ronson's conclusions and I agree with him. But then we're back to the central problem with Icke: either he's malicious, or he's stupid. His use of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion with its references to a Jewish-Communist conspiracy, which was the ideological background to Nazism, might make us think that he has Nazi sympathies. But I've met the man and I've heard him talk and I'm certain that he doesn't. So you have to wonder how he gets into this kind of a mess? Even a small bit of research should have made him cautious about using this as a reference, so he clearly wasn't looking into this properly. And if he can be so way off about something so basic, how many other times has he been mislead and and is misleading us as a consequence?
We're back to conspiracy theory again. Is there a conspiracy? Yes, of course there is. To quote Adam Smith: "The vile maxim of the masters of mankind: all for ourselves and none for other people." That's the conspiracy. But as soon as you bring in Sumerian bloodlines and reptilians you're open to ridicule. So mention conspiracy theory and people just say, "oh David Icke" and dismiss you.
BTW I watched the Turning of the Tide video and found very little to disagree with. He was clearly in a better mental space when he made this.
Also, I think his motivations are made clear in the opening of the new video when he says, "What have I let myself in for, last week i was just watching TV." I think he can't leave well alone, that he's addicted to the media, to being on TV, and that's why he's plopped himself down in front of the cameras again, for the media exposure. I don't think he ever quite got over being given the sack by the BBC.
Chris, Atlantis is coming along OK. My problem is where not to go with it? There is too much! That was the problem with Arysio's 30 years of research - there was too much for me to edit into shape and he understood why I quit. It's like David explains on the new Hull video I think it is - that to get a grasp on the big picture the amount of stuff you have to research and go through is mindboggling. I would say that any avenue of research within it has a phenomenal amount of material as does the Atlantis stuff. Clearly, as always, where the beliefs and theories clash and oppose totally there can only be one truth. Atlantis can't be all over the world. And as soon as somebody 'figures it out' with a new explanation you get a backlash of debunkers and people picking holes. I was reading one today finding fault with Arysio's theories.
As for Icke the Sumerian bloodline stuff is old and goes back before the Turning of the Tide video I think you will find. He just wasn't on about it there. It is standard in alternative history theory.
I don't agree with you that he is addicted to being on TV. I think he would like a much quieter life but cannot have one because he is motivated to carry on with his mission just like Arthur is and has returned to Stonehenge protesting. David is doing a lot of countryside-walking nowadays and devoted a newsletter to it.
No, I didn't realise how well this was doing so thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for posting the David Icke material. I have been following his work for a very long time and have attended quite a few of his lectures here in England.
Over the years I have witnessed many rude people heckling and shouting abuse within the crowds. Interestingly enough, the very same rude people would also appear at different public events which had no connection to Mr Icke whatsoever!
In my opinion Mr Icke is a true humantarian. For what it is worth, my uncle survived a terrible experience at Belson. It left him mentally scarred for the remainder of his life. Most of my family love and appreciate Mr Icke
Thank you for posting, Bev!
Your welcome
I have found a clip on youtube about the Canadian Protesters. Now, If I remember correctly the programe was originally screened on British Channel 4.
But it's here if you wish to see it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4eh3Utwf84&feaThanks for the link!
don't you think icke is some sort of double bluff? he parades the conspiracy of wealthy elites, (something scarily believable and quite possible true) among crackpot theories of reptilian aliens and bloodlines of power. hence, anyone who tries to expose those running the world at our expense are tarred with the same nut brush as him! as in, 'isn't that what david icke says? he's a nutter. all this stuff is just made up.' he pulls what could be a really serious and important issue into the asylum, perpetuating peoples sheep-like submission to the idea all conspiracy theorists are crazy. if he's right he should be applauded but the better chance is that hes delusional or in paid league with the so-called 'NWO'.
I don't agree that he is delusional or working for the elite or that he is a mason or any of the other anti-Icke stuff said about him. Personally I think David is one of the best of the alternative historians and conspiracy theorists because he reaches a very large number of people and is, as he frequently points out, often proved right!
yeah David Icke is a nut job. If you look at his past, you see what he really is. He is a dumb hack ex-footballer who got arthritis and became a reporter. Nothing in his history suggests intelligence. He believes that Everyone is equal. This is a lie that communism is famous for. He is used as a joke for disinformation.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion on this but I disagree with you on everything you have said!
I have followed his career all the way since he became an author and am familiar with his life history having read his biography. I have also met and corresponded with David.
I would say that as spiritual beings we are indeed all equal but it does not appear so on this planet because of the way the system teaches division, competitiveness and superiority of some! The elite believe they are! You clearly haven't read much of Icke's work or you would know that he lists communism as a product of the Illuminati.
I think Mr. Icke is not an oblivious fool as some would like to believe:

Very true, oftimes the biggest advocates for change and awareness are given a rough go! Finding and utilizing one's voice in the face of adversity is never fun but always rewarding.
Keep it Up!
Bright Blessings,
Alfred
