What is Daycare School Online?
Daycare School is being built as a resource for people who want
to start a daycare or who have a daycare. I started it because I want
more Mother's home with their children and more daycare centers
focusing in the children they care for. Running a daycare is more than
just "watching" children. Children need nurturing in their young lives,
they need stability, education, nutrition and love.
Daycare School
was developed in April 2009. That's really not that long ago so just
give us time. It started as kind of a project at night. I started
finding I had more and more to say on the subject and "viola" Daycare School Online was born.
I
haven't always been a daycare provider, I've actually had my oldest in
many daycares when she was younger. I couldn't stand paying someone
money to "watch" my children. This was my precious baby and she was
only a weekly amount to them. A mother should be the one who nurtures
and educates her children through their young lives. I also understand
that its not feasibly possible for some people. Some Mothers just can't
handle being home with their kids but for those of you who really,
really want to....you came to the right place. I've been there and I
know.
At
my daycare I have four children, two of my own. Samantha is 7 and she's
my oldest, Mommy's super helper. Then there's the youngest, Jeremy,
he's 2 and all boy! The other two children are 4 months (it's now May
2009) and the other is going to be 2 years in August. During the day
Samantha goes to school so it's just me and the boys. We have a good
time too. We learn sign language, sing worship, have circle time, eat,
nap and play all day. What's great about this group is Jeremy (my two
year old) and Collin (who is almost two) get along like brothers. It's
nice having two around the same age. The infant Caleb is my handsome
little man. I love having an infant but you have to remember that
infants are hard work and need a lot of love and attention so don't
take on too many babies at once. You want to make sure every child's
needs are met and you do this by carefully selecting your "pay load."
Don't bite off more than you can chew...ha ha
Being a home
daycare provider has made me a better mother. Had I just stayed home
with my kids I don't know if they would be getting as much social
interaction as they need. Staying home with them and not running a
daycare was never an option though because of our financial needs. I'm
glad it worked out this way. All I knew in my heart was I wanted to be
home with my kids, God led me through the path I've taken and it has
been magnificent. I get to be with my kids and see the shining faces of
two others. I love kids. I have always been a kid person even before I
had my own. I always baby sat one of my 43 cousins growing up....yah,
43! I always had kids around me so being patient with them just comes
naturally to me I suppose. God has put a love that only he can in my
heart when it comes to children. Maybe it's the same love he has for
his children? I can't imagine the depth of God's love but I know that
it's in me and it shines through to all my children, even the ones I
care for.
Why pay someone else to watch your kids?
Discover how you can earn an income and stay at home with your kids.
Are you a mother with a desire to stay home with your children? Does
the thought of daycare rates keep you up at night? Why pay someone else
to watch your kids? If you really love your job then I can understand
why you do it but for the 90% of who dont, why? Especially if you have
more than one child? I just can't understand paying close $2K a month
to have someone else nurture your children?
I was working your
average 8-5 job since I was 18 years old. When I had my daughter at 21
I had no choice but put her in daycare because my income was our life
source. Handing my precious baby girl over to a stranger for 11 hours a
day was killing me inside. I would cry at work over the thought of my
little girl screaming for me.
Just her screaming for me every
morning was enough to tear any Mother's heart out. Then there were
constant illnesses she would contract from the other kids, it felt like
she was always sick! You better have health insurance because you're
going to be in the doctor's office twice a month from just the
illnesses alone they pick up in a daycare center. One of the worst
experiences I remember from my daycare nightmares was the constant
filth my child was always in. Her hands, face, clothes and hair were
always nasty. I mean nasty people. I tried switching daycares but you
what? That was also hard on my daughter too. Moving her around trying
to get the best care was awful. All daycare centers are alike. It's not
to say that they were dirty but it was not their job to wash up your
kids or their belongings. They were simply there to watch them and feed
them and basically just keep them alive.
The worst part about
the daycare was I was paying them to barely take care of my child. I
knew that if I was home with her I could do a much better job. But we
couldn't afford it, or so I thought.
All the rushing to get
ready in the morning was killing me. Getting up at 5am and out the door
with my baby in the cold to daycare by 630am.
When I got home
from work I was exhausted and rushed and barely had time to do
anything. From the time I got home I had to clean my filthy child, get
dinner ready, straighten up the house and do some laundry amongst
countless other things. It was exhausting and was making me very
depressed.
Getting pregnant with our second child was a blessed
surprise. From the very beginning of the pregnancy I would have panic
attacks over giving my new child to a daycare. I was sick with the
thought. I love my kids to death and I'm sure you feel the same way, I
was dying inside at the thought. I wanted to be home with my kids so
bad that it haunted me day and night. It was all I could focus on. I
want to be there for every moment of my child's young life and I had
already missed so much with my daughter that I couldn't do it again.
I
set out on a mission. I was determined to stay home with my kids and
earn an income. I adore children and I knew the best option was starting a daycare.
I needed to earn money but I was not leaving my kids so I decided to do
what everyone does. I turned to the internet. When you're sick of your
job where do you go? The internet!
The first thing you have to
understand is that I put my mind to something and did it. You have to
have the determined mind set of what you want to do and the direction
you want to take.
Daycare School Online
is place to go if you have decided you want to start a daycare but
don't know how. It has a comprehensive affordable program that will get
you started from the ground up. Don't dread sending your kids to a
stranger! Don't loose sleep over daycare costs (because I know
you do!). Who wants to pay $250 a week to have someone else watch their
kid? Ok, may some but I wasn't one of them. I didn't hate my 8-5 job at
the time, I just loved my family more and felt they deserved my
attention. If you could, wouldn't you stay home? Starting a daycare is
very rewarding. If you would like more information on Daycare School

Keeping Your Daycare Tidy
Keeping your home daycare clean and in order is very important for
health, safety, and the mental stability of the children you care for.
One of the most important steps in reducing the number of germs is
thorough cleaning of all surfaces. Surfaces most likely to be
contaminated with germs are those with which the children come in close
contact with. These include toys that children put in their mouths,
crib rails, food preparation areas, and surfaces likely to become very
riddled with germs, such as diaper-changing areas. Any glass surfaces
like windows, television screens, etc should be kept clean at all times
as well.
Daily routine cleaning with soap and water is in my
opinion the best method for removing germs from surfaces in the your
daycare. Good old fashion physical down on your hands and knees
cleaning reduces the numbers of germs from the surface, just as hand
washing reduces the numbers of germs from the hands. I recommend
washing hands several times per day for all children in your care and
of course your own hands as well (keep a bottle of lotion handy to
prevent drying out). Even babies should have their hands constantly
wiped with a clean cloth.
Removing germs in your daycare is
especially important for soiled surfaces which cannot be treated with
chemical disinfectants, such as some upholstery fabrics. I cover all
fabrics with machine washable covers in my home daycare so that only
the cover needs to be washed daily. Anyway you choose to keep your
fabrics clean is up to you just as long as they are clean.
Some
toys and surfaces should be disinfected to kill germs after cleaning
with soap and and rinsing with clear water. Items that can be washed in
a dishwasher or hot cycle of a washing machine do not have to be
disinfected because these machines use water that is hot enough for a
long enough period of time to kill most germs. The disinfection process
uses chemicals that are stronger than soap and water.
Proper
disinfection also requires soaking or drenching the item for several
minutes to give the chemical time to kill the remaining germs.
Commercial products that meet the Environmental Protection Agency's
(EPA's) standards for "hospital grade" solutions may be used.
One
of the most commonly used chemicals for disinfection in a daycare is a
homemade solution of household bleach and water. Bleach is cheap and
easy to get. The solution of bleach and water is easy to mix, is
nontoxic, is safe if handled properly, and kills most infectious
agents. I personally use bleach and water all day long. I have some
droolers in my daycare so I like to wipe consistently all day long to
help reduce the risk of spreading germs.
Bleach Cleaning Solution Ratio
1 tbsp bleach to 1 gallon water
