Days in, days out

The smile blends with blood; opens

the curtains of the east windows.

Dawn? Again? Crumpled bed swears.

Yolk color washes her and she

cannot be sure if she is

happy or on the verge of

being sad for one more day.

>

One more day with swings of mood

touching both the poles now and then,

one more day she crashes like those

brown cookies she cannot taste

anymore. One more day smiles

in red, in yolk, in blood till she

draws the blinds on time, till she reads

the movements of ants hauling prospects

Lyricist

“It is not my song anymore.”

Softly declines the lyricist

and steps out of the buzzing hall

into the street with few men.

The last of the winter becomes

a hazy feeling, a light scarf.

>

“It is not my world anymore.”

God whispered after creating.

Still…

Still the lyricist begins

to edit his song beneath

an evening sky God still working on.

I loved that very last line " an evening sky God still working on."...That sort of pulled it all together for me...

Thank you for two lovely prose poems...Larry

I had to read them over quite a few times, very evocative. I'll have to return and read them again. You have a new fan!!
