Dead Man Walking

Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins is a very highly praised film that lifts up issues about capital punishment in a convincing way. It is appears on the basis of book Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States by Helen Prejean, CSJ. In this book, his Sister Helen explains her imminent and her understanding with ministering to men who was putting to death, and, afterward, to the relatives of murder victims. The film allows viewers to see the truth of murder and punishment from the perspective of death row prisoner, their families, the families of the sufferers, and prison officers.

The utmost emotional part of the movie was when Matthew admits that he did kill the youngsters and that he was really sorry. Matthew sought to die with self-respect and also in harmony with himself and particularly God. He was capable to do this by requesting the parents of the victims for their pardon. The movie also demonstrates how the death penalty can be unfair on those people who are poor. Matthew's partner in the offense got life in prison because he arranged to hire a better public prosecutor whereas Matthew acknowledged the death penalty.

Susan Sarandon's, the main character, in this movie was represented as a Good Samaritan. I deem this because, like Samaritan's back in the time of Jesus Christ, nobody akin to be concerned or help a murderer in need. However she came to his region and was there for him when he required her. By doing this, she gave a message to the whole world that we are all formed equal and we are all alike in God's eyes. We should forever help out somebody in need, particularly someone who was near to die like Matthew. We have to put aside our disgust and started to care because two sins don't make a right and in the end, they are creature just like us.

The nun represented a related character in this murderer such as Jesus Christ. She was serving a murderer find his means with God just like Jesus hanged out with lepers, prostitutes, and pilfers the throwaways of his day. If we name ourselves Jesus' follower, we too have to continue pristine to the means, the lepers of today. Jesus Christ rejects to meet abhor with abhorrence and aggression with violence.

Today there's a big disagreement over death penalty by keeping in view the cognitive moral development, whether or not it continues, or if it is ethically right. We have a specific freedom on our own existence, but cognitively do the lives of others belong to us as well? Do we keep the right to make a decision the kind of lives others can or cannot exist? Is the capital punishment a ‘nasty and uncommon' sentence or is it now an essential means in the war on crime? Although the development of this type of penalty is growing and it seriously influences the families all across United States. Though other movies have be successful in capturing the ridiculousness of human being life and the depravation of human nature, this film came near to representing how God's loveliness can explode event in the middle of life's deepest desolation. I believe this movie wasn't about death penalty; it is not related to religious conviction. It is about a common human being who by her straightforward faith becomes the negotiator or messenger of God's power, and a living evidence to the victory of good over malevolence
