Dead Space- Game and Movie Review
61Dead Space Downfall the movie
Blood, gore, friends turning on friends, paranoia, and creepy UGLY monsters make up the movie Dead Space: Downfall. A creepy and highly disgusting movie yet very entertaining to watch from time to time when you want to watch a gory movie while possibly writing your own horror story. The movie is full of action and killing, and is based off of the game, Dead Space, the movie, an anime, which is supposed to be the prologue to the game.
Dead Space the game
Though the movie is high paced, the game is even more high paced where you are in charge of killing the creepy creatures before they kill you and the crew you are with when you step onto the ghost ship, USG Ishimura, in outer space. The game is even scarier than the movie because you can’t see what is happening around you in the dark, until you turn your character around to check around you. Being a single player game, it is even scarier because you have no help and the monsters seem to appear out of nowhere, attacking and ready to strip you of your flesh. While in the movie, the creatures can take over the other people’s bodies and make them into killing machines, when you die in the game, you die and have to start over where you last saved your game.
The game and the movie both have great weapons but in the game you get better weapons, can upgrade and fix your weapons, and even get better suits that will help protect you more from the creatures.
Game VS Movie
My husband played the game and had a blast, getting scared himself when one of the creatures would pop out of nowhere. I myself not liking to play too many video games sat down and watched him play, enjoying watching him playing games for some strange reason, and jumped a lot myself. I have never been scared of a video game before in my life until he started to play this game. It was fun watching him play, and he said he was glad I watch him play games because I catch things he might miss since he is concentrating on watching out for the monsters as well as other things such as money, ammunition, etc., but mostly watching out for the monsters. Even though it is a scary game, I really enjoyed watching him play it, even with the lights off.
I say the game is WAY better than the movie but I do enjoy watching the movie when I want to just have something creepy playing in the background while writing.
Gore for you?
So if you do enjoy the gory, creepy movies, rent Dead Space: Downfall, and if you think it was an interesting movie and love to play video games, pick up the game at your nearest Game Stop or other game shop and try it out for yourself. And remember…its more fun to play the game in the dark!
