The makers of this games, Tecmo, are well known for producing action packed quality fighting games, a classic example being Ninja Gaiden, as well as the Dead or Alive series. The latest offering in the Dead or Alive series, number 4, is another one on one street fighting game for the Xbox 360 which features 21 characters that you can play as, each one of which has their own unique story mode to take you through the single player game.

The Best Bits

Dead or Alive has great characters that a lot of effort has obviously gone into creating. It is well known for creating buxom babes as characters that are easy on the eye, such as Kasumi and Hitomi, and fantasy male charaters such as Eliot and Hayate, but a great new addition for number four is the presence of Spartan making the crossover from the Halo series into this game. This adds an awesome new element not only in terms of story etc. but also in terms of the gameplay which is markedly different with Spartan than it is with the other characters.

The controls are nice and simple so you can pick it up in no time at all, meaning that it is ideal for casual gamers who don't want to have to put in a huge number of hours of playing the game to master the moves.

Behind and around the actual fighting in this game there are some brilliant graphic for the scenary, with a real attention to detail making this a beautiful game to play.

The Worst Bits

The fighting seems to be really fast, which means that unless you have superhuman reflexes it can descend into buton bashing, and it can seem a bit jerky and chaotic.

The character graphics have obviously been focussed solely on making sexy fighters with big boobs and panties that get flashed all the time, but this does make them quite one dimensional and you do feel at times like this titilation has started to completely take over the game.

In Conclusion

if you are looking for serious a  martial arts fighting game then this is probably not for you, but as a bit of light entertainment, especially for teenage lads, it comes highly recommended.

I give this game 6.5 out of 10
