Dear Christians

Death
I have seen a very perturbing thing happening on the internet and elsewhere, wherein Christians bashed everything and everyone around them. Not themselves and their own beliefs but others beliefs. Even other Christians. Catholic is Christian, it is the beginning of Christianity and other others sprang from there. Jewish was the beginng of Cathololicism and there were Knostics (learned ones), Druids and others before and during that time.
Since man came to be we have been looking heavenward. We are looking for a belief that will satisfy our souls and quell our fears about death. Death, the great unknown but something for which we are bound. Like birth was where we came into recognition, Or is it?
Has our Universal Diety (God) already known of us? He counts every hair on your head it is said. Knows of every sparrows passing. I believe, if I were a Goddess I would know too. These would be My children, my very own. I would love each of them/us relentlessly, like I love my children.
If I cared that much wouldn't I, if I could, be sure there was something after passing from this life? Perhaps something better? Perhaps something different than has ever known? Perhaps heaven or reincarnation into something or someone better or maybe worse, depending on our time spent here and how well we did with it, a kind of heaven or of hell?
Even those of us who are agnostic or have a "different" God are all the same. Each of us is stretching our arms out to the God we believe in, who can deliver us out of death and into something, anything else. Most of us believe there is something else, even if that belief comes at the time of death.
With this being a truth then why do we fight? Is it because everyone has to be right? Maybe we are ALL right. Maybe just a belief, any belief is right. God did not say we had to be Christian, or anything else, in order to go to heaven, or what is our next big adventure. In fact, it looks as though Jews are the chosen. Perhaps tolerance is the better answer? Maybe we should we just "let it be." Maybe we should relax our nerves and speak to God in our fashion, never trying to push anything on anyone. Maybe we should outlaw any religion that causes strife. Stop believing that God in on "our" side. There is no side, there is just us.
The "Golden Rule": Do unto others what you would have done unto you. When did we forget this?

I agree with Liya, very well said Gracie!
Unfortunately my own experiences (as an 'eclectic pagan') have led me to the belief that some (or many?) Christians are not very 'Christian' in their attitude towards, and treatment of, their fellow man and woman.
The words 'intolerant' and 'judgmental' are the first to spring to mind.
It's very sad, but their need to lash out against everyone else indicates that they seem to be coming from a place of fear, doubt and hate - and not a place of faith, trust and love...
Thanks to both of you. I obviously think the same way.
Well said and agreed. I'm a firm believer that every spiritual path, any spiritual path, is the right one as long as it is right for that individual. It doesn't matter what god, gods, or other entities you reach out to. It doesn't even matter whether or not you reach out to any god. The point is finding what works for you, and being true to yourself and your path.
That's the point.
Gracie
Freedom of belief should be a universal right for all humans, and there is a big difference between debating and idea and destructive criticism.
I have never understood why so many people get bent out of shape trying to make other people believe exactly as they do. What does it matter? Vive la difference - it makes the world a more interesting, vibrant place.
Yes, understanding and tolerance is the answerr.
Loving All,
Gracie
If today's parents would only teach their children to respect all religions, we'd be living in a better word in a single generation. Nice hub.
