Private rescuer

I come across animals in need pretty frequently. I am able to take many on myself and all that entails but not every one of them so I reach out for others who care for the creatures we share this earth with and seek foster homes, adopters or just people who can help in various ways.

I run a small, vegan, body care company that is dedicated to observing "green" practices... and I believe no matter what your cause is, you have to present it with passion and most importantly, humility. I have seen your rescue work and admire your proactive attitude in making this world a better place for animals. We really do have an impact, so let's keep at it!

Cheers!

Deanna, you are an inspiration to the pet rescue world. I am in awe of your ability to save so many lives. You have a way of getting through to the humans in this world who seem to have forgotten that it is our responsibility to be the voice for the voiceless and you do so without anger, hostility or accusation. Your passion and drive is something I strive for and because of you, hundreds of animals will find peace in a new home and the love they so deserve. You should be applauded!!!! A wise women once said to me, "Don't feel weakness because people don't understand, find strength that you do. It's beautiful!!" Thanks for keeping me strong!!!

What I am doing lately in rescue

Since moving to a new neighborhood I have been working overtime to educate and save homeless animals. It is off the hook in the valley. I have found dogs and cats running the streets so much that I think twice before leaving the house. HA HA

Last week I found a 3 week old kitten in the bushes by himself starving and unable to walk. I found him a great foster home with a girlfriend of mine and she is bottle feeding every 2 hours which is a full time job. I then decided to make fliers for my entire neighborhood with info so that perhaps others might decide to get involved and help their community and the suffering and homeless animals. Fixnation.org will spay and neuter for free and also loan traps for stray cats. This is the kind thing to do so they do not overpopulate and starve and die daily right in our backyards. After the cat is fixed you can let him/her back out where you found them unless you can find a suitable home. It's difficult with cats because sometimes they are too wild to be domesticated. Dogs need to be placed in a home.

Also the local shelters in California will give $30 coupons to people willing to fix stray animals if Fixnation.org is busy or overwhelmed.

So unfortunately I cannot even make it to the shelter these days to rescue animals because I have more than I can handle in my own neighborhood. I will continue to help, rescue and love animals while trying to educate people.
