Did Texas Governor Perry Allow Innocent Man To Be Executed?
Politics may have played an important part in the 2004 decision of Texas Governor Rick Perry to execute a innocent man. Now the Governor is claiming that it is people against the death penalty who are spreading the story that Cameron Todd Willingham was innocent. However it is the Governor himself who is trying to bury a report from forensic experts who say that Willingham may have in fact been innocent of the crime of arson murder that he was convicted of and Governor Perry knew this before the execution was carried out. Many forensic experts who have viewed the evidence that convicted Willingham say that it is a fact that Willingham is the first known innocent man to have been executed in the state of Texas. And if even one innocent person has been executed then we should not have the death penalty.
Innocent Persons Have Been Executed In The United States
Did you know that when New Jersey ended the death penalty in 2007 that the state saw its murder rate decline. New Mexico abolished the death penalty in March of this year. Many other states have currently stopped carrying out the death penalty and several may soon abolish the death penalty. Texas is one of the states where the death penalty is carried out most often.
Capital punishment has been carried out in Texas since 1819. Since then Texas has executed 1187 people and there are several people who were executed in Texas even in recent times that new evidence now strongly argues that innocent persons have been executed before in Texas. And across all the states of the United States there are many cases where innocent persons may have in fact been executed.
I can not see how anyone can support the death penalty in any shape , form or fashion if there is any chance that a innocent person may be executed. And we all know the argument that well if he or she had killed your family member or loved one you would want that person executed. But let me ask you a very hard and personal question. Ask yourself what would Jesus do. What if you were innocent setting on death row waiting to be executed and that day came.
We must as an American people demand an end to Capital Punishment as long as there is the chance that a innocent person could be executed. And with human error and overzealous prosecutors you can believe that right now as you are reading this that there are people setting on death row in various US states right now.
Incompetent defense attorneys may have sent several innocent persons to death row in Texas. Even today with all the public spotlight on the death penalty there are many incompetent lawyers trying capital murder cases in Texas and many of them never seriously fight for their clients. We as an American people must stand up and demand a immediate end to the death penalty until it can be proven 100 percent that no innocent person can possibly be sent to death row. And with human error that would be impossible to prove.

It cannot be right to kill, why does the state think killing someone for killing someone is right? It is wrong to kill.
Jesus said that we should forgive our treaspassers, but the lord has carried out the death penalty a lot of times in the bible. I say it is a no brainer to be for the death penalty. If someone rapes and murders and robs a 78 year old woman while she BEGS for her life is there really another penalty ? Please America get back to the Bible and show love but don't be stupid, as far as a few innocent dyeing most of them are life long criminals so are they really innocent. There are some people out there that never get caught for killing someone but we don't kill 25 people to cover for them. In other words we can't catch all murders and we can't execute all murders life is not fair bur we still have to have rules to will discourage crime.

The death penalty is not only inhumane it's uncivilized. The execution of any innocent person is especially horrible, but what can be worse the knowingly executing an innocent person?
I am unalterably opposed to capital punishment. Thank you crazyhorsesghost for shedding light on the problem. I invite to read my hub on the subject: http://hubpages.com/hub/Ask-Not-for-Whom-the-Bell-
