In history there always remains a relation between human and forest. Now we come to discuss the Deciduous Forests (deciduous trees, plants and habitat). The converse of deciduous is evergreen; plants that are intermediate may be called semi-deciduous. Like many deciduous plants, so many deciduous flower plants during the period when they are leafless, as this increases the effectiveness of pollination. Leaf drop or abscission involves complex physiological signals and changes within plants. In other parts of the world the leaves of deciduous trees simply fall off without turning the bright colors produced from the accumulation of anthocyanin pigments. The cells are sensitive to a plant hormone called auxin that is produced by the leaf and other parts of the plant. Plants with deciduous foliage compared to plants with evergreen foliage, have both advantages and disadvantages in growth and competition for space. Periods of leaf fall often coincide with seasons: winter in the case of cool-climate plants or the dry-season in the case of tropical plants. South America has two big areas of deciduous forests in southern Chile and Middle Eastern coast of Paraguay. The deciduous forests are also located in New Zealand and southeastern Australia. In the following lines we will discuss different kinds of deciduous forests. There are two distinctive types of deciduous forests in the world. Temperate deciduous forest biomes are plant communities distributed in America, Asia and Europe. Tropical and semi tropical deciduous forest biomes have developed in response not to seasonal temperature variations but to seasonal rainfall patterns. Climate The average temperature of the deciduous forest is about 50 degrees F. During the winter months water is generally not available to keep the leaves of some plants alive. Therefore, the leaves of some plants fall off and grow back in the spring. There are five different zones in the deciduous forests. The first zone is the Tree Stratum zone. The small tree and sapling zone is the second zone. This zone has young and short trees. It contains short plants such as herbal plants. The deciduous forest has four distinct seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In the autumn the leaves change color. During the winter months the trees lose their leaves. Taiga is a biome characterized by coniferous forests.

Animals Precipitation in the temperate deciduous forest is spread throughout the year. The Deciduous forest does not have much vegetation but there are many trees that contain outrageous amounts of flowers. The trees adapt to this forest by having thick bark barriers on the trees to keep the animals out and the trees from dying. Deforestation Deforestation is the conversion of forested areas to non-forest land for use such as arable land, pasture, urban use, logged area, township planning or wasteland. Forests in Europe are adversely affected by acid rain and very large areas of Siberia (Deciduous forest) have been harvested since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Between 1990 and 2005, the Nigeria lost a staggering 79% of its old-growth forests. We know that trees are 50 percent carbon. Forests support considerable biodiversity, providing valuable habitat for wildlife; moreover, forests foster medicinal conservation and the recharge of aquifers. Shrinking forest cover lessens the landscape's capacity to intercept, retain and transport precipitation. Long-term gains can be obtained by managing forest lands sustainable to maintain both forest cover and provide a biodegradable renewable resource.

Forest fires and ways to prevent them Many forest fires starts accidentally those can be prevented. By contrast natural forests produce about 1-2 cubic meters per hectare, therefore 5 to 10 times more forest land would be required to meet demand. Forester Chad Oliver has suggested a forest mosaic with high-yield forest lands interspersed with conservation land. In western countries, increasing consumer demand for wood products that have been produced and harvested in a sustainable manner are causing forest landowners and forest industries to become increasingly accountable for their forest management and timber harvesting practices. The Arbor Day Foundation's Rain Forest Rescue program is a charity that helps to prevent deforestation.
