Decorating Your Car for Halloween
63
As Halloween rolls around, there's no reason why your car can't get in on the trick-or-treat act! Spiff it up with some of these ideas below and have fun on the run :)
Get plenty of ideas from Halloween magazines and websites, too.
1) Add some costume paraphernalia like this pigvan did! Call an auto shop nearby to ask about how to stick the stuff on, though, so you don't ruin your paint job.
2. See if you can borrow or rent something weird for the night to go with your costume rental. I mean, this strange Russian tractor would be too cool in the neighborhood with bat surrounding it and Dracula passing out candy coffins.
3) Seek out unusual cars in your area, antiques and other cars that stand out in the crowd like this wooden car. Add a wooden toy soldier costume to the driver, a wooden toy rocking horse on top and pass out lollipops to kids.
4) How those DIY (Do It Yourself) home improvement enthusiasts? See what you have around the home to turn into a go-cart, like this toilet on wheels! Pass out tootsie rolls from inside the commode -- -OOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Tips for Tricks and Treats
- Use twist ties to hold costume parts on your vehicle where you can. And avoid using harsh glues that are permanent. Call your local auto supply shop to see about using those sticky dots / adhesive strips like ones on the back of credit cards, when they first arrive in your mailbox.
- Look up instructions in library books and online for steps to making a float. Here's a site to kick this off for your research: http://www.ehow.com/how_2066385_make-float-holiday-parade.html
- Don't leave trash behind, or debris from your vehicle. Take along a trash bag if you've created something like a float and tiny tissues may fall off.
- Bring along small wrapped candies to distribute to trick-or-treaters. Unwrapped stuff gets tossed, anyway, so don't waste your money or their fun.

You're sure welcome! Now one of my own family cars is scary.....but not actually in a "costumed" state. ....just scary with dents, rust, etc.
