Decorating Your Yard for Thanksgiving
65Scarecrow Face
Stuck between Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving doesn't seem to get much attention though it is an important holiday to most Americans. It celebrates the harvest and the relationship that the pilgrims and the American Indians shared almost 400 years ago.
So how can you decorate your yard for Thanksgiving?
Remember the Harvest
Since Americans are giving thanks for the harvest on Thanksgiving, it is fun, and usually beautiful to decorate with the harvest in mind.
Use leftover pumpkins from Halloween and set them up near your front porch. You can even set up a hay bale to set things on.
If you have a home garden and frow squash, zucchini and other vegetables, consider displaying them as well.

You can either create your own scarecrow with by stuffing your clothes with straw, plastic bags or otehr materials, or you can purchase them online or at a department store.
There are many varieties available, tall short, ones that sit, ones that stand... the options go on and on. Group them together to give a family feel.
Leaf Garlands
If you have a porch or a fence, put up a leaf garland. The garland will put up the pretty colors of autumn and bring in the Thanksgiving feel.
There are many sorts available, including garlands that are hung up like chandeliers. Use several garlands to give the autumn feel.
Rack your real leaves and put them into inside out halloween leaf bags to make orange pumpkins that you can place around your yard and garden as well.
