What Will Creditors Do?

In times of emergency and mayhem we sometimes need to have cash just when we need it. Most of us try to be responsible and will succeed - but there are times when we least expect it when something unexpected happens and we need cash fast. That is when many of us turn to payday loans.

These loans are very different from loans that you would obtain from the bank in the fact that they are not lenient and have no grace periods. Many people who are considering getting a payday loan will ask one main question, “What happens if I default payday loans?”

Most payday loan officers will start off getting money from you by calling you and sending letters. They will do this to remind you that you are late and to tell you to pay them immediately. If that doesn’t work some companies might refer your account to collections agencies. To stop these telephone calls you can send a letter demanding that the stop.

Other agencies might be able to make people pay by filing a lawsuit. If they do this they and the courts will force you to pay by garnishing your wages and other methods. However, this is something that many do not do.

Keep in mind that these collection agencies are not allowed to threaten you with jail time. Many states will prohibit this.
