Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. Love never fails!
If someone treats you with all of the above, I would say they are showing true love. It's hard to obtain to this kind of love in our own human power. With the help of Christ, it's a life-long journey, and hopefully we become more loving everyday. As for your question though, I think this could sum it up.
