I have been buying skippy dog treats at the public super markets in florida for at least 10 years. today i have been in 3 different public super markets and none of them have skippy treats......my dog and I will be very unhappy if we cannot buy skippy dog treats
I am having the same problem finding Skippy treats too. Please don't discontinue them. They are the only my yorkies can eat without getting sick.
Kandice
IF ANYONE FINDS SKIPPY DOG TREATS TO BUY, PLEASE POST THAT LOCATION. WE HAVE HUNTED LOTS OF PLACES WITH NO LUCK. WE FOUND SOME SIMILAR TREATS AT AN IGA IN CLEVELAND GA CALLED NUNN-BETTER PUPPY TREATS. OUR DOG WILL EAT THEM BUT THEY'RE NOT SKIPPY. WE WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE ALMOST 50 MILES TO FIND AN IGA HERE IN WEST CENTRAL FL.
I too want Skippy Dog treats in Fla. What happened to them?
I have also been looking for the little "T" treats. My mini dacshund can only eat them. He gets sick on everything else. I am desperate! What has happened to them. I too live in central florida. I pray you are still making them, if so please let me know where I can get them or even order them. Please let me know what's up!
Sorry to tell you, but this product has been discontinued as of about 1 month ago. I contacted DelMonte today and spoke with Mike in consumer affairs. I would suggest that anyone who loves this product make a phone call to DelMonte. Their number is 1-800-543-3090 and they can be reached 9-5 eastern time. Who knows maybe many voices will bring back the product. I was told that the product was discontinued because it "just wasn't as popular as they thought they were going to be". Good luck!!!
Thank you cindyris64, for the info and phone number, I will be calling on Monday @ 9:00 a.m. I will post the response they give me. I suggest we all call and let them know we want the product back. If anyone finds skippy treats or calls I would like to know. I may be reached at (786) 286-5000. I too have been to several Publixs and Winn Dixies , along with other smaller markets and have been told the company has pulled the product off the shelves, but they (the stoe managers) didn't know why.
I also will be calling Monday to let them what a BIG mistake they have made!! And I will post their answer here too. I can be reached at 407-295-0580. Let's go everyone. Let your voices and those of our pets be heard!
To all of you that are looking for treats. I contacted the 800 # that was given and spoke with a nice lady named Tony at Del Monte. She said they were taken off the shelves because they were not selling good all over. They were selling well in certain areas but not so good in others. I told her that in that case they should still make them just send less to areas that are not buying them and send more to the ones that were. It is not fair to those that are buying them. You move your merchandise to where it is selling more and still make money. Anyway, she said thanks for bringing it to her attention and she would present it to the management for discussion. Everyone, please call and let them know how you feel.
I just called Del Monte and they said buy pupperoni instead. I hate those soft treats, they just aren't good for your dog and it makes their poop soft and stinky! Yuck! It figures that a wonderful product like this would be yanked off the shelves. It's the perfect size for a small dog and sold at a great price. Please keep calling Del Monte. 800-543-3090
I have a home in Cleveland Ohio and Estero Florida. I have been searching for Skippy Treats here in the Cleveland area with no luck, but have not been back to Florida yet. I was hoping to find them there and bring LOTS and LOTS back with me. I'm hoping they are still on the shelves when I get there. My yorkie just LOVES them! They're just the right size, not too hard and I also don't like the soft treats. I will be calling Del Monte too.
As a dog trainer, I have been using Skippy treats for years. I probably have used 5 boxes per week. I will certainly miss them and the dogs I have trained will miss them too because their owners have been rewarding their dogs as I did. A good product has gone by the wayside because of lack of advertising. Please reconsider marketing again. Miss you Skippy Treats!
We cannot believe they took Skippy treats off the market. Our little yorkie will not eat any other treats. My husband and I are desperate. I will call them on Tue. Sept. 8th. they could at least make them available online. They should not be able to discontinue them without warning us, THE CONSUMERS!!!
Isabel and Celso
So sad to hear that DelMonte has decided not to continue making its Skippy Dog Treats. They were Smokey's favorite. A very distant second choice for her is Iam's treats.
I just spoke to someone at Del Monte and she said they were only doing good in certain locations. I suggested they only sell in those localities. I told her you don't sell snow blowers in Florida or very much sun tan lotion in Maine, so just sell where there is a demand. Everyone should call Del Monte.........
We will be calling to give our concern about not being able to get Shippy Treats anymore. We always had a hard time finding them in our area stores, but when they were in stock we would buy all that they had and store them in the freezer. Our two doys age 17 and 14 have always had these treats and we can not find any other treat that is similar that they like. Hopefully if more people call we can make Del Monte know that they have made an error by stopping production.
We used to be able to get the skippy treats here too, I did call Del Monte and received the same response...those were the perfect size and price, my beagle loved them in her treat ball, and being "T" shaped, made it alittle harder for her to work them out of there!!!

I have just searched several Publix and Wal-Mart stores in the metro Atlanta area with no success in finding the Skippy treats my toy poodle loves. They are the only ones that does not upset her stomach. I certainly will be calling Del-Monte on Monday! I hope they at least make it available on line for those of us who simply MUST have them.
As I said I would 3 weeks ago, I have been calling Del Monte Products 800- 543-3090 about the Skippy Treats they have discontinued. I have not heard a response or seen a posting from them. Please if anyone else had heard anything back from the company, let us know. Thank you all who have also called. We need to keep calling and requesting for this product to return. It is obvious by the postings, we DID purchase this across the country
my dog love`s skippy dog treat`s ! please , bring them back !!!! linda daytona beach , florida
What in world happened to Skippy Dog Treats? Our dog loves them. We also use them for training. They are the perfect size. Please reinstate the product.
Please bring back the Skippy Dog Treats !!!!
The dogs at our humane society love Skippy dog treats. We bought the last boxes at the grocery store and donated them to the humane society. Please bring them back and make the dogs happy again.
My dog loves Skippy dog treats, and so disappointed they don't make them anymore. She does not like most other treats and now keeps having accidents. We also donated them to the Humane Society as they used them as treats. Please contact Del Monte in an effort to bring them back, at least online. 1-800-543-3090
Okay all you loyal Skippy treats fans, I have e-mailed DelMonte with this webpage in the hopes that they will see all of these comments by their loyal consumers. Keep calling, e-mailing, and writing to them. You never know, it may just make a difference.
My yorkie has been eating Skippy Treats since she was a puppy.(She's 12) She misses her treats. I've tried all kinds of different ones and they are not the same to her. I have been every where looking for them, in hopes of finding a few boxes. Obviously, there are customers who want them. I'd even take the recipe, just to make my Sasse happy. Please bring them back.
We used the last Skippy Dog Treat out of the box this morning and now my Maltie sits there looking where the Skippy Box was wanting one :(
Please Please Please bring the Skippy treats back.
I've been doing searches for these dog treats for months...I finally found this site, and alot of dog owners like myself, whose dog absolutely loves them! Boots, our Boston Terrier, was raised on these(he's now 10 1/2)and doesn't seem to like any other treat nearly as much. I'll be adding my voice to the chorus for their return;keep up the pressure, people!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one looking for skippy treats! It took some digging to find this site. Our Pom has been trained with Skippy treats---they're the perfect size for small dogs. The other treats are like a meal to a small dog. Wake up Del Monte--people want this product!
We have just returned in the Motor Home from Canada, have checked many many stores looking for Skippy treats. Lucy our Cocker Spaniel thinks them WONDERFUL. Always has one last thing at night before bed, and of course for any tricks she does. Checked out Orlando stores this afternoon, we are desperate. I always thought the boxes flew off the shelves at my Publics.
Sign me up for any petition you have concerning bringing back the Skippy Dog Treats. I have two toy poodles, and just as the rest of you have stated, these are the only treats that don't make my doggies sick. I can't believe Del Monte isn't producing this product any more.
I, too have been looking all over for Skippy Treats. My dog loved them. I am trying various other treats, but have to break them up. I don't care for the soft, spongy treats. I have now reverted to pieces of carrots as that is healthier than the treats on the shelves. If they had done marketing on the Skippy Treats, then they might have sold more. I just picked them up off the shelf the first time, and my dog loved them. Let's hope they bring them back.
I, too have been looking in all our Publixs supermarkets to no advail. Both my Mom and I have small dogs who love Skippy dog treats. I will call the number and suggest they do not discontinue them.
It's been two months now and our dog does not enjoy anything nearly as much as the Skippy Treat. I'm wondering if the discontinuation is somehow related to the "Made in U.S.A." notice on the box.
Our dog is 16 years old and has only had Skippy Treats since we brought him home at 2 months! We are very disappointed. :(
Oh where, oh where have my Skippy Treats gone?! Just got back from motorhome trip to the Northwest. Took a supply, but ran out of Skippy Treats half way and now I find I can't get them any more. Our 2 Affenpinschers are distraught. I always bought multiple boxes at Publix because they sold out so fast. What's Del Monte thinking?? We've substituted Alpo Snaps, but they don't break as well and tend to crumble. Not exactly suitable for carrying in your pockets.
This is devistating news! I can not believe that Delmonte would discontinue Skippys! I have 2 Poms that would just quiver at the thought of getting one of these treats. There must be something that can be done! Please bring back these treats!
My dog is missing her t-shape Skippy
Please bring them back
Willow the Papillion
SEEMS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE SKIPPYS.
I TRAINED MY GIRLFREIND'S 8 YEAR OLD DOG WITH THEM. THEY SAY YOU CAN'T TRAIN AN OLDER DOG, THAT IS NOT TRUE.
BUT NOW HE IS CONFUSED AS TO WHY HE DOES NOT GET HIS REAL TREAT.
PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU, JACK
Please bring back the Skippy treat... My little pom just loves the little "t's". We miss them and I am calling Del Monte first thing Monday morning.
OMG! What do you mean that Skippy Treats were NOT a good seller?Every time my Publix put them on the shelf, they were gonn immediately. ( It got so that I was grabbing all I could and only leaving one for the next customer because they were becoming hard to get!) Now I am reading they are discontinued, pleeease! I am wasting a lot of money trying new snacks on my 2 small doggies and they are not eating them. If nothing else, let us order them on line. There are a lot of disturbed doggies out here, not to mention us owners!! Thank you, Donna Sarasota, Florida
I keep looking hoping Skippy Treats will show up in the store. My dog loves them and will not eat any other treats. I used them in his training. Please bring them back or at least offer the ability to order them online!!!
What a shame.... My neighbors dog loved them and now I have a dog have he will not get a chance to love them too.

I called DelMonte and they had no ideal about this site. I gave to them so that they can see the interest consumers have for this product. Keep posting and keep calling Del Monte.
Oh no! We also loved these for their shape. Nothing else that you put in an active toy stays in there. These were great for my beagle. Del Monte: would you consider selling them online only? Then you don't have to stock them everywhere. Please?
THE MAIN REASON THEY DIDN'T SELL IS BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T FIND THEM ON THE SHELF THE STORES WOULD PUT THEM IN OBSCURE PLACES. SO YOU REALLY HAD TO HUNT FOR THEM......I WOULD GLADLY ORDER THEM ONLINE . WHEN I DID FIND THEM IN THE STORE I ALWAYS BOUGHT ALL THEY HAD...B
We are DEVASTATED that our Mom and Dad can no longer buy Skippy/ Recipe treats. They are the only treats we love, and Brewster has been eating them for 13 years! Now that he is older he needs his favorite treats more than ever. There is no substitute! Please bring them back SOON!
We have tried so many treats prior but nothing ever came close to the results we got with Skippys. We have been loyal to this brand for years and now our poor Lucy is devastated. :( We are trying other treats and agree, the soft pup-peroni's don't digest well with her and the milk bone's just aren't the right size even when we break them and she doesn't seem to like them as much as she did Skippys. Here's the answer to the "why" pasted below. It is dated this month - there must be a way to get this wonderful product back on our shelves!!!???!!! In reading all of the posts I agree a) they were difficult to find, b) they were often out of stock and c) they may have been a central/east coast only product. It seems they are using raw computer data reports vs talking to and listening to their consumers as they are trying to change our behavior vs continuing to provide the product we want. Maybe if we all met outside their corporate offices with our dogs carrying protest signs it would get media attention, what do you think? Oh that's right, none of us are from San Francisco, California. How about meeting in Washington, D.C. ?

Dear Ken,
Thank you for your e-mail about Skippy Dog Treats. We're glad you took the time to contact us and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
We're sincerely sorry to disappoint you, but Skippy Dog Treats have been discontinued. While we know the product was very popular with some consumers in certain areas of the country, unfortunately it wasn't a big seller nationwide. We make a wide variety of pet treats and pet food products in our manufacturing facilities, and sometimes we have to make the difficult choice to eliminate a less popular product from our lineup so that we can continue to meet consumer demand on more popular items.
We appreciate knowing your opinion, and will share your comments with our Management. We hope we can convince you to try some of our other pet treat products, and we'd like to offer a couple of suggestions to help you transition your dog to a new treat.
Pup-Peroni, a delicious soft, chewy treat, is customizable and can be broken into smaller pieces for use as a training treat or when feeding small dogs or puppies. If your dog prefers crunchy treats, Milk-Bone Original Treats are another great alternative.
We hope this is helpful.

Del Monte. Nourishing families. Enriching lives. Every Day.
we always bought your skippy treats for our yorky. she loves them.they are just the right size.we would buy them on line also.
My 2 poodles are 10 yrs. old and we have purchased Skippy Treats for them since puppies putting them in the Kongs & they are able to get them out which is good for their teeth & gums. Whenever I've gone to a store their supply always seemed to sell. I'm talking about Massachusetts sold under the name of "Recipe" and in FL under the name of "Skippy Treats. I certainly hope some thought is given to bringing them back on the shelves.
I also bought the Skippy treats....would buy as many as i could find and freeze them....my dog doesnt like any other treat. Skippy's weren't so hard for him to chew....other's such as milk bones are way to hard for my Maltese. I've been using Alpo's "snaps" treats....they aren't too bad if you break them up....buy my dog is still looking for the "T's".....I also wish they'd offer them on the internet and let us still buy them. I emailed Delmonte about 6 months ago and couldnt buy them over the internet then either. I can't understand why they said they weren't a big seller....our store was always running out of them and now can't get them at all!!!!
I will also call that number and complain...maybe if they hear from enough of us, they'll start making them again.
Del Monte ~ Bring back Skippy's! We buy Milk Bones, but our Jack Russell Terriers eat far more Skippy's. They are very sad looking for their favorite treats. Pup-peronis are awful...
Please HELP!!! Rambo loved his Skippy treats..he wants no other. I used to buy it at Publix but they no longer carry it. I can't find it anywhere else. Any clues??
I, too have been having the problem of locating Skippy/Recipe Treats in 2 stores in No. Adams, MA. We have a lab and we have been buying the "t" bone shaped treats since he was a puppy now (9 1/2) years old and misses his treats. We don't like the other treats on the shelves because they are too big and not as nutricious, not as many in the box as others and Recipe Treats are less expensive. I also always purchased most of what was on the shelf and left only a box for the next unfortunate customer. Our extended family all have dogs and my husband always put them in his pocket when visiting and the dogs looked forward to getting a treat from him. That was 5 more dogs. Please consider bringing them back and like someone else said in a comment send to where they were selling or sell them to an online store so we can order them. If u are making Recipe Dog Biscuits, why not the treats. Thank you in advance for bringing them back.
My poor little Pekes are heartbroken that they have discontinued thier "t's" . This is their favorite treat, and as others have said our pampered pooches will take no substitute. How can they even suggest Pup-perroni, no comparison. Please someone listen and bring back Skippy treats! My babies want their T's

My Shih Tzu loves Skippy T treats. Since August I have been "stalking" Publix supermarkets in and around the Metro Atlanta area trying to find them. To see that my presumption is true (they've been discontinued) is devastating!!!! (seriously) After reading the posts, I know that I'm not the only one and neither is my "fur-baby". We have been trying other treats for her treat ball, but they are too big, too small, too grainy, or too messy. We are really struggling. These are the only treats she's eaten since I rescued her. I called Del Monte today and asked to have my call added to the list of people that will support bringing Skippy back to the shelves. I don't know what their data indicates for sales, but clearly it does not reflect the voices of the consumers I've read on this site. Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one that would buy Skippy Treats on the black market to make my doggie happy. :) Happy searching everyone (for a suitable alternative) and hopefully we will find our beloved Skippy T's on the shelves in stores near us soon!

Do you have any info on Wholesome Foods Goodness wet/dry Food by Del Monte? I checked their webpage to see if I could find ingredients but they only listed the nutritional facts (unless I'm missing something).
