There are traditions...

I like to have traditions in my life. Some come from other people, I created some other myself. What has link between that and baked beans ? Easy...

I always associated baked beans with the Heinz receipe. You know, buy the blue-ish can, open it, get them warm the way you prefer, and here you are.

Anything else I would cook myself could approach that, be simillar, tasting like, but won't be as the original bakes beans.

The same is true for many other things. Syrup for example, will always be associated to my Gd'ma cassis syrup. It probably comes from that early memories, and from my first experiences.

For the same reason, I can understand why some persons call what Starbucks is serving "coffee". If this is the first thing you associated with that noun, it makes sense. But if you ever drank something else, you then know that this is NOT coffee.

Life is strange

How can a request about baked beans receipe lead to philosophical questions about associating tastes, receipies, memories, sounds and nouns ?

This is all the magic of the human brain and spirit. We're strange animals, able of best and worst, and this is what makes life fun.

Enjoy !
