Denver Search Engine Optimization - Denver CO

As I go through my days doing SEO work for my clients here in the Denver and Boulder Colorado area, I get asked a lot about what SEO is and why is it so darn complicated to get someone's site to rank well on Google and the other two important search engines, MSN and Yahoo.

Well, the truth about search engine optimization, be it local keywords such as Denver SEO or more general terms such as "search engine optimization" is the one that hasn't changed much even though times have changed, Google continuously changes its ranking algorythm and Yahoo and MSN seem to always follow suit. What is that truth? KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

SEO is not black magic like many so called SEO experts out there will make you believe. There are a few very basic things that make up a site that is well optimized. Those things haven't changed even since before Google existed. Namely, they are:

1. Content

3. More Content

4. Unique Content

5. NO FLASH (At least don't have a site composed ONLY of flash)

6. Submit your site to the important web directories

7. Request links from related websites

8. Continue to update your site regularly after you have built it

9. Don't use your company name as your titles. Nobody knows your company and nobody is going to search for it. When you create titles, think about this, that is the simgle most important tag on your whole page (i'm talking about the title tag in your html - explaining that is beyond the scope of this article but I will write more about that on another hub).
