Depression, these days depression is occuring more and more, or... being noticed more and more. in any case society is becoming more aware, and what i dont like is when the docters say.. we can fix it, or even worse, when the tv says we can fix it. thats a shocker. this annoys me because depression is 100% mental.
If you are feeling a little depressed, feeling a little bummed because you are going through a rough spot in your life, just got some bad news. And you flick on the tv, 'Are you feeling depressed!?' your answer is yes, 'Then you need (enter dodgey pill name here)'. I can safely say. no pill on the tv will heal you. For some reason though this pill idea has you hooked, and seems like it will make you feel happy again, so you go to the docter to get one perscribed.
This is were the proverbial hits the fan, because now a docter, a highly respected role in society is giving you a pill for depression.
Because i believe depression is entirely mental and needs to be resolved mentaly, now you have been officially diagnosd with depression, so in your mind now, the mental barrier that started with you feeling sorry for yourself and a little blue. Has now developed into a fully serious mental barrior, so basically you've dug yourself into a hole, and then if worst comes to worst you will become dependant on the pills.
So what i recommend, is when your feeling glum felling a little down. down get pills. dont start being abusive to your body. just go for a run? natural endorfins (sp). get some mates around and have a good friendly talk about anything, or get out your favorite feel good movie and just mellow out for a weekend
and feel better for it. Please just smile
