Manic depression is often confused with depression. Sometimes when a person is manic depressive they do NOT have the mania stages and so their doctor will misdiagnose them giving them anti-depressants which will make them MUCH worse.

Some manic depressed people ONLY have the mania stages. While this might sound good it can actually be even worse then the depressed stages.

These mania stages can get so crazy and out of control that it feels like you are running a motor at 90 mpy with no oil.

This is actually what is happening to your brain. Your brain isn't going into the temporary repair state that it needs maintain itself. Which is why the longer the mania lasts the worse it gets. Your brain is tearing itself apart.

Your brain has to balance maintenance with work. If your brain is always in repair mode you will become depressed. If you brain is always in work mode with no repair you will be come manic.

Basically I learned how to switch my brain from state to state whenever I want. If I am getting manic I will switch my brain down to a temporary repair cycle. If I am feeling depressed I will switch my brain UP into run mode..

Tada. Now I am in control of my own brain and emotions and I LOVE IT!

Remember anti-depressants cause brain damage by NOT allowing your brain to repair itself so they make bipolar disorder MUCH MUCH worse!

Lithium works on bipolar disorder but it is POISONOUS and the amount needed to level out bipolar is VERY close to what will kill you.
