Winner of Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka 2009 is Gamya Prasadini and runnersup are Shimali Perera and Ayeshani Dulangi short while ago. This Beauty Pageant was held at mount Lavinia Hotel Sri Lanka.
The finals will be shown on DeranaTV on July 24,2009 at 9:30 pm.

I think the overall winner is Gamya as she poseses academic knowledge and dancing ability. She is articulate too. Only problem is her nose and height.

But in every way Gamya's got it all goin on and Nadeesha OMG she 's a bit too skinny for miss Sri Lanka more lyk Sri Lankas Next Top model Nadeesha has a good character though

hay guys Gamya won miss sri lanka 2009. I knew she is the one. I am not happy about the final 12. Derana did not do a good job with selecting during the first round. They let go No23. she is a real beauty. By the way runnerup is shimali I don't know who is the third.

2nd runner-up is Ayeshani....
i am not at all happy about the top 5. there are more girls who should have come to the top 5. with the answers the girls have given, i am really surprised. i'm surprised that nadeesha didn't come. that girl is well educated and has a great personality. a bit skinny though but she is one of the talented girls there. bein able to speak 4 languages, that girl had potential. i was hoping she'd atleast get 1st or 2nd runner up. and dharani?? ruwani?? what is wrong with these people??? this year derana had not done a good job on the TOP 5! i'm very dissapointed. and i think for the 1st time in sri lanka, a 5'4'' miss sri lanka go the crown. she's a smart girl. has degrees but ... hmmm oh well, this is sri lanka. but lot of unfairness...

Yes mira she is short. but thats the avarage height of sri lankan women. What I like about her is she worked hard to become miss sri lanka. She is the overall winner. shimali stuffed up her both questions but she become 2nd. she is beautiful no doubt about that. I feel for nadeesha She should have been in the final five.
