If you want to enter the world of financial derivatives for any reason - maybe you wanna trade options or understand why LTCM collapsed - but fear the complexity of the maths, this book has a non-technical approach to the field.

It is written byPhelim Boyle an academic from the University of Waterloo, where he went to teach Advanced Finance after earning a PhD in physics from Trinity College, Dublin. With his highly technical background, he is in a good position to teach the eager investor about the most misunderstood tool in modern finance. His brother, Feidhlim, decided to work for Goldman Sachs the leader in selling and structuring fixed income derivatives in the 80s.

Of course the author wrote the book as an advocate of derivatives but not everybody agrees. Even if you do not, read it at least to introduce yourself in the mysterious world of secret finance. It is through these instruments that the whole world market and in fact the whole economy are driven - not to say manipulated.
