Dermalogica Cleanstart
63Fancy giving your teenage skin a cleanstart?
The teenage skin care products market is worth over £85m in the UK alone, that's a lot of teenagers who need help from a premium branded product. There are several, but one worth noting is the Dermalogica Cleanstart range.
The Dermalogica brand is very well known and is fairly unique in that it doesn't sell products in a volume retail environment. Well, not officially anyway. The brand has impeccable credentials amongst celebrities and professional therapists alike.
If you visit a
Dermalogica salon, you can be assured that the therapist is trained by
one of a world leading post graduate training facility - The Dermal
Institute. This institute is responsible for the development of the
entire Dermalogica Product range, including Cleanstart.
Cleanstart was created by thoroughly consulting with a panel of teenage subjects to establish what benefits teenage skin care products should bring. The range is results driven and rather than packing the products full of antiseptic smelling, medicated ingredients, it is very much a matter of what's left out of the products that make Cleanstart unique.
Young
people need to adopt a skin care regimen early on in order to reap the
benefits in later life. Using light weight products is the preferred
route teenagers should consider. There's a quick review of the products here.
The main concerns teen skin faces are breakouts and oil production. Using lighter weight products can make the skin feel less bogged down and improve texture.
Top tips for improving your teen skin are (starting with the most important first):
- Wear SPF
- Take professional advice from a trained therapist
- Don't strip your skin by scrubbing, you'll increase oil production!
- Avoid products containing alcohol, pure lanolin, artificial colours and fragrances
- Again, wear SPF
The Dermalogica Cleanstart teenage skin care range is due to launch in September 2009 in the UK.

Cor, that model is gorgeous.
I'm fed up of reading about home remedies, taking ages making face creams and other worthless potions. Everywhere you read there's something new coming out promising to be better.
My older sister uses Dermalogica and it works well, I'm looking forward to seeing if this does too.
There isn't really much information at all yet. I've called up several suppliers and I'm told they can't supply online yet.
I tried the lip product, I had really flaky chapped lips. The problem was that I had lip balms, but I kept forgetting to use them. My best friend had some dermalogica lip treatment and we were out one saturday and everytime she put it on she passed it over! I've been addicted ever since, must be something to do with the taste lol! Anyway, it did the trick...
