I still remember the time when I was just a kid and playing with most of the children of the same age. We were living in one door of the apartment and we have some nice neighbors who are really enjoying the place because it's a busy place just near the public market.
Right after school hours me and my friends would start playing our top and try to be part of the good games about it. We even try to play playing cards that we bought outside our school premises. Things that most male children are doing during their younger years.
Our surrounding was really great because it is a surrounding where you meet a lot of ordinary people who are all doing their regular daily work or survival and who love to live a happy. Things that are so simple and which makes them so happy every now & then.
Environment that you can only see in the areas where public markets are located including public schools. So nice that even adult people are trying to participate in the merry making of the whole community. Areas where most people are really happy to live a happy life whenever possible.
One time we engaged in kite flying and we try to make our own kite out of old newspaper. Some whose fathers are able to make good professional kite managed to join the contest by just trying to make a good design and make it fly beautifully. There was a giant kite then where we use big ropes to be able to have this kite fly during windy days.
There was a time that I still remember that me and my closed friends try to start folding paper airplanes and try to produce one big box making use of the scrap paper we got from one of our neighbors. It was nice and we were so glad & happy about that particular situation. After that we started to throw the paper planes one by one and observed how they actually fly.
At one time we decided to sell ice drop every time we have our school yearly break to earn money so we can save some amounts for our next school days. We all want to help our parents and this is what we did to really help them support our studies. That was the time when the school tuition fees were so small that some could not even afford it.
Things that I really missed now that I am on my fifties. My parents were right to say "enjoy your youth days for it will never come back anymore." I still see most of my friends and few died of their personal disease. I thank God that I was with them the time we are all spending our youth days together.
Yes these are the days that I've missed because they are part of my life and that of my friends which we only now treasure because it will never come back anymore.

Rudy, you are indeed a Filipino by heart! Yeah I also play "tex" and jolen and syato that time and they were so simple toys, compared to the sophisticated ones nowadays. But thing is we actually enjoyed making the toys and managing how to play it. And the best of it... we were playing with "real friends", not with some avatars or computer produced virtual friends. That's a nice one..
