Destination Weddings and Planning
58Boy meets girl, they fall in love, boy proposes, girls says yes, and it's time to plan a wedding! This used to be an easy task, but as people are spreading out across the country making travel a necessary part of attending a wedding, more and more couples are looking at Destination Weddings as the answer to their troubles.
When family members are going to have to spend hundreds of dollars to attend a wedding anyway, many couples are finding it more fun, and often more economical to plan their wedding on a cruise ship, on an island in the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Mexico and across the pond in Europe! The sky is the limit when it comes to choices for destinations and couples are only limited by their own imaginations and budgets when it comes to planning the wedding of their dreams.
When couples choose a destination wedding, they are essentially planning their wedding at the location of their honeymoon. This means that cost wise, they are usually saving quite a bit of money making it possible to plan extra days of activities for the family members who join them for their wedding week. Many resorts offer free weddings for brides and grooms who stay a minimum number of nights, which they would probably do for their honeymoon anyway!
Instead of family members spending money and time off from work to attend a wedding in some town they have never heard of, they are given the chance to take a vacation at some of the worlds most beautiful and romantic spots, attend a wedding, have a family reunion of sorts, and have a great time!
Couples can choose to stay at a different resort from their families or on large islands like Jamaica, on a totally different part of the island if they want to insure one on one time once the wedding festivities are over. Many couples enjoy being surrounded by family and friends during this special time and find that their guests are more than willing to make sure they have "alone" time while they enjoy group activities such as jungle tours, kayaking, horseback riding, snorkeling, skiing and more!
Hawaii remains a trendy destination for beach weddings followed closely by Mexico, and the various islands of the Caribbean. If couples would like to stay in the continental U.S., Colorado, Walt Disney World, and of course, Las Vegas are among the most popular choices. Following in the footsteps of movie stars, many are choosing the romance of Italy, the beauty of France, and the history of England for their destination wedding. If a couple just can't decide on that ideal destination, a cruise wedding may be just the ticket! The couple can visit more than one port and spend romantic evenings at sea under the stars while their guests have built in entertainment on board, even the kids!
Whichever location a couple chooses, they should always work with a company specializing in destination weddings. This is the most important day of their lives and they shouldn't leave all of those important details to someone who has never worked with a bride and groom, or try to take on the huge responsibility themselves. Working with a company that books destination weddings is like working with a wedding coordinator who takes care of the travel arrangements for the entire wedding party, all of the wedding day details from the flowers to the cake, and works with the couple to make sure all of their wishes are taken care of so their dream wedding day is exactly how they pictured it.
