Developing Mininets for affiliate marketing
56Every site links to every other site eventually.
A mininet is a group of sites and resources that you use to promote affiliate offers or a primary site. The world wide web is a large network of sites where every site eventually links to every other site available on the www.
Think of six degrees of separation. This is an idea that every person in the world is connected to every other person through no more than six degrees of separation. It is based on mathematical principals. The simple explanation is if you take everyone you know then take every one they know through six levels you can find a direct connection to anyone in the world.
This may not quite be viable on the www as far as every other site linking to other sites. I have pages with no incoming links and no outgoing links, but these are used for very specific reasons, which is outside the scope of this Hub. However, they can be found by any user on the Internet.
Through a smart linking strategy you can build mininets that will drive traffic to your affiliate offers and increase your ranking in serps.
Creating mininets
Using mininets to drive traffic is a simple process, although not an easy one if you use quality content. There are spammy ways to do this and are not recomended by me. I concentrate on building quality content that give the user a reason to trust my recomendations and will survive years to come.
Here is how I use mininets:
Build five or more relevant sites with at a minimum of 10 pages. I generally concentrate on one affiliate product for each main site. I use wordpress blogs for cms to do this.
Have every page on each site link to an affiliate offer either through a presell or banners with links out to a home page of another one of your sites in your mininet, using anchor text or blogroll links.
If done properly then all you have to do is concentrate building inbound links to your sites' home page or relevent content pages. This will drive traffic and search engine rankings.
Creating Links and Driving Traffic and Search Engine Spiders
There are some good free ways to bring in external traffic and search engine trust to your mininet once established. This can be accomplished using social bookmarking, blog aggregators, supporting blogs and sites like Hubpages.
Each strategy is a little different so I will dedicate a Hub to each one over the next few days. In the meantime just remember that every link coming into your mininet helps your sites to be found by surfers and cuts down on the degrees of separation.
