Microdermabrasion machines are quickly becoming the best do it yourself home cosmetic procedure you can get. The reason why they are popular is because these products actually work – unlike most of the so called skin care devices you find on the market. With microdermabrasion, the results are proven day after day.

Microdermabrasion machines work by removing the top layer of dead skin from your face. This layer is called the stratum corneum. The benefits of removing this layer are that you immediately get clear and clean skin. Think of a microdermabrasion procedure something similar to a chemical peel. The same process applies – by removing the top layer of skin, the blemish-free skin beneath is revealed.

Diamond microdermabrasion machines are probably the most effective type of microdermabrasion machine out there. Diamond microdermabrasion models don’t use the common aluminum oxide crystals and crystal tips that crystal microdermabrasion machines. Instead, these machines us a special diamond tip that help remove the dead skin from the face. The diamond tip basically scraps away the old, unwanted skin cells from the stratum corneum. This is a process that requires the use of abrasion instead of chemicals to remove the skin.

There is a lot of debate about which kind of microdermabrasion device is more effective, and you will find people who are divided on the issue. I personally find that the diamond tipped microdermabrasion devices are more effective overall, and cheaper to use.

Diamond microdermabrasion is far more effective than chemical peels because the process is faster, painless, cheaper (over the long run), and you can use it by yourself on yourself. There are at home chemical peels, but these are very watered down versions of the more effective professional variety – and if you want a deep chemical peel, you will need to see a professional.

At home microdermabrasion machines are a better solution to chemical peels hands down. If you have wrinkled, older skin and want to rejuvenate your face, a diamond microdermabrasion machine is the perfect solution. It’s important to know the good with the bad, however.

The biggest problem with microdermabrasion machines is their expense. A single machine will cost about $2500 on average, while you can pay over $4000 for a high end model. There are cheap microdermabrasion machines of the budget variety that sell for less than $2500, but you need to be very careful to get a machine with a good reputation – sure you might pay 400 for a machine, but you need to ask yourself what’s missing from a $400 machine when the average price is over $2000. The answer is probably a whole lot, and you could just end up wasting your money on a scam product that does nothing.

Now, the cheapest diamond microdermabrasion machines can be found on eBay. You can get some spectacular deals right now, picking up used diamond microdermabrasion machines for a fraction of the price. I’ve seen $4000 models going for less than a thousand! The current economic recession means that many people running into financial problems are trying to pawn off their microdermabrasion machines at discounted rates – so keep an eye out for deals!

Now, while you may balk at spending this much money on a machine, think about the long term benefits here. You basically get access the same results that the best chemical peels will provide, all from the comfort of your own home and whenever you want!

Diamond microdermabrasion devices can really make a difference in your skin’s complexion with regular use. You can get rid of blackheads and red acne marks with a few treatments. If you have serious acne or some sort of chronic skin problem, you won’t be able to treat it with a microdermabrasion machine – but for mild blemishes, light acne, and blackheads, the best diamond microdermabrasion machine will do wonders for.
