Make a Diaper from Recycled Tee Shirts!

The price of disposable diapers is outrageous. Not to mention the even higher price of choking our landfills! Using cloth diapers might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but once it becomes part of your routine, you will wonder why you waited so long to try. Cloth diapers are better for your baby's bottom, better for the earth and better for your wallet!

If you are really frugal, and can manage a simple straight stitch on a sewing machine, then you can make these diapers. All you need is an old t-shirt, a small amount of cotton flannel (an old sheet works well) or a cotton prefold diaper, a few buttons and some thin elastic cord.

My tutorial linked below will give you dimensions for drafting a pattern, as well as step by step instructions and photos for making these super simple diapers. And while you're there, be sure to check out my other cloth diapering sites on my blogroll!
