Will there be a new God Czar position created?

What accommodations will Obama make if the White House is in partnership with God?

White House Press Secretary Busy Dispelling Rumors.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will neither confirm or deny rumors of new God Czar position being created.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will neither confirm or deny rumors of new God Czar position being created.

Rumors abound around what this means and the possible consequences.

Did the president prematurely let the cat out of the bag when he said on a recent radio broadcast, “We are God’s partners in matters of life and death.”

Some speculate that through a special envoy to heaven Obama has gained the endorsement of God for health care reform.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs would neither confirm or deny when asked, “Are the rumors about a partnership with God what President Obama meant during the Presidential campaign when he said 'change we can believe in?'”

Spokesmen for the Pope at the Vatican deny any knowledge of any direct dealings with God and the current occupant of the White House.

Leaders of protestant denominations are universal for the first time in their history in that they all claim that they also know nothing of any communication between Obama and God.

Meanwhile rumors are making their rounds within the beltway of who the top contenders for God Czar might be if there is a partnership between the Obama government and God.

Is Rahm Emanuel in Contention for Position of God Czar?

Highly placed sources peg Rahm Emanuel as a possible leader for the coveted title as God Czar. When asked, Emanuel was quoted as saying, “Us Democrats have a big tent and there is always room for God in it. But, I assure you I have no aspirations to be God Czar if such a position is created. I have all the behind the scenes power I can handle now.”

Harry Reid, Democratic Senate Majority Leader was also mentioned as being a possible consideration as God Czar. According to one Washington insider, “Harry would be perfect. He has been dealing with 99 minor gods in the Senate for the past couple of years. That experience should help him dealing with God, if he is appointed God Czar.”

Critics are quick to point out the Obama administration already has more than 30 czars, and believe that is enough czars for anyone.

Former President Clinton Speaks Out on Question.

When asked if it is an upper or lower case god, Clinton replied by saying "It depends on what the meaning of od is."

Bush ways inn.

When asked about God partnering with the government, Former President Bush stated, "This is America, where anyone is free to believe in whatever he wants."

Should God Czar be Czar of Czars?

The opposing thought is if it is true that God is going to be the Obama government’s partner in manners of life and death, then we should make God feel important by having a God Czar. It was pointed out that perhaps the correct title for a God Czar should be Czar of Czars.

There is some controversy over exactly who Obama meant when he referred to God. Since the words were not part of a speech and just uttered on the radio, perhaps it was a lower case god that Obama was referring.

“That makes more sense” said TV Evangelist and Church Leader Pat Robertson. “The last I heard God had no intention of partnering up with anyone who condones abortion. It well could be the president meant someone like Zeus was interested in partnering with the government. You know Zeus must be pretty lonely since everyone left him after the Greeks. He could be desperate enough to be looking for change of that sort.”

President Bill Clinton stated categorically, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'od is. If it is god or God' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of political relations with upper case God, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

President Bush who is usually silent when it comes to the current administration called a special news conference today. There Bush said, “I could have made an announcement I had God as a partner, but if I had the press would have massacred me. That’s why I never said anything. But I knew he was on our side when we invaded Iraq.”

Chicago Activists Overjoyed

Many from Chicago believe with God on his side, Obama will transfer the Chicago miracle of making one person's vote count as many to a national level.

Hippy says down with something!

Hippy says this God and Government thing sounds like something Nixon would conjure up.

Many liberals are overjoyed. The prevailing thought is summed up by the words of an ACORN activist in Chicago. “I normally don’t believe in God, but now I do because the religious right won’t stand a chance now that according to president Obama God is on our side.

Other points of view include this quip that was heard by a old hippy in San Francisco. “It seems this is something somebody like Billy Graham would say, or some Pope who was trying to reform the Holy land by ousting the infidels in Jerusalem would say. I supported the president, but I can no longer believe in the US government because it is God’s partner.”

Constitutionalists who worry about things such as the separation of church and state are shuddering over the sudden speculation of the partnership between the US government and God. On the one hand they fear the inclusion of any religious figure in the day to day operation of the government. On the other hand some fear that if they are against such a partnership, and God does materialize he may be angry at them and strike them down with lightening bolts.

Supreme Court Justice Roberts has already said that the Supreme Court would expect the lower courts to decide the constitutionality of having God on the president’s side.

Many Obama supporters are already eagerly waiting the day when the President will appear from the Oval Office with the 1000 Pages of Health Care Reform commandments.

What do you think?

  • I think God should be neutral and stay out of the White House.
  • I think God should be given the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House.
  • I think Obama was reffering to a lower case god such as Zeus or Athena or something like that.

Keith, very funny, and yet so true. The now 45 czars should have a head czar, and why shouldn't Obama have spoken to God, isn't he the Messiah?

Interesting twist on his words. I guess I took his words to mean that God, alone, doesn't fix things - that we need to help...Have you heard of the WI parents recently convicted for letting their daughter die; the parents you relying on God, alone, to take care of her. Funny, if we wait around for God, we risk going to jail, losing our livelihoods, or even die - but if we "partner" with God we're accused of thinking we're closer to God than everyone else. I'll have to ask my son, the preacher, what he thinks. He tells people all the time that he has a personal relationship with God.

Out of curiosity, who said that Obama was the Messiah? Him - or other people?

Thank you jiberish. If Charlton Heston were alive we could make a movie titled Czar of Czars. It could be about a person who was born in Omaha and rose in power until one day .....

Good Hub, I especially like the comment from Miss Nomi who like all others in her obvious age group who voted for Obama have no idea who said what about what! When you have something to conserve then you will be one! Thanks Keith!

Excuse me? My obvious age group? What would that be and how does that relate to what I know, don't know, or having something to conserve? Please, help me to understand the point you're trying to make - or was this just an opportunity to bash someone who doesn't share your opinion of our President?

No Nomi, if that is a picture of you then it is obvious what age group you are in. Your opinion of the president means nothing to me, what bothers me is you don't seem to have educated yourself about who you possibly voted for or you would have had the answer to the messiah question! That voting thing that we as Americans get to do is a very sacred thing and should never be used ignorantly, those who just push buttons or pull levers without knowing facts diminish this great privilege that we have.

Miss Nomi  says:

I'm sorry, A Texan, but all you've done is avoid my question, insulted me, and blur your comment even more. What age group am I in and how does that determine how much I know about Obama, the election, or anything relating to either? How does my age group determine how much time I invested in selecting who got my vote, or how I evaluate his performance thus far? What do you know about me from my picture that allows you to generalize and patronize me?

Ah...never mind...it's not worth my effort.

Yes, for example our local god (lower case g) Congressman Kirk had a Town Hall Meeting yesterday. The time? Three PM. Of course it wouldn't occur to a government servant or employee to schedule anything when a working person could attend.
