Low Carb Diets Make you Flabby

If you pay close attention, you will learn secrets that very few know. Unfortunately, at the rate the media is hyping “Lo-Carb” everything, many will die before the truth is unveiled. It is criminal!

One popular High protein diet (other wise known as a Lo-Carb plan) states that exercise is necessary while on it, to prevent flabbiness.

I’m not a licensed medical physician, or a rocket scientist, but even I can see that doesn’t make sense. If the body is actually “burning” protein, it means it is eliminating it.  If we tear down and eliminate part of our muscle mass, we can’t “exercise  it back”!!  Exercise doesn’t “create”, it merely strengthens what is already there. That’s absurd. If we destroy part of our heart (it IS a muscle), we cannot create it again.  The muscle mass we have left can be exercised , or worked and used until it is healthier than we are accustomed to, but we are  still missing part of our MUSCLE MASS!

I spent most of my youth with my grandparents.  They lived in the deep south, and worked the fields, or attended their farms.  When I say “their farms”, I do not mean they had enormous acreage and made a living producing food for our country.  They had a simple barn, with “see rock city” fading from where it was painted on top long before I came along. They had a few hogs, cows, a couple horses and a hound dog or two.

The acre beside the country white house (yes it had a tin roof, and it was wonderful to sleep under!) had a field that grew corn, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, okra, turnip greens, cabbage, and watermelon.

When my Grandpa was older, he collected garbage in the small town of about sixty people.  One day, his arm got caught in the part of the truck that grabs and compacts the trash.  To this day, I remember exactly how his disfigured arm looked. Between his wrist and elbow, the muscle had been “eaten off “. It looked like mere skin overlapping bone. I’m sure some muscle had to have survived, but you sure couldn’t see it.  The best I can describe it would be what I would envision a shark bite to resemble.

If, it were possible to exercise lost muscle into creation, a lot of deformities would be healed.  Don’t be confused with “loss of muscle tone”, versus actual “loss of muscle tissue”.  LO-CARB diets cause muscle tissue loss.  Think for a moment, LO-CARB diets can’t cause loss of muscle “tone”.  That is caused by inactivity.

In my mind, telling someone to exercise while on a high protein, (Lo-carb) diet is misleading and dangerous.

The kidneys are not equipped to filter the amount of trash that is produces when muscle mass breaks down.  When fat or muscle burn, they are filtered by the kidneys, then excreted in the urine.  Many people that are on this absurd diet will find themselves having sharp pains in their kidney area. Kidney, and urinary track infections are common while doing the “suicide diet”.

Have you ever seen anyone that lost a lot of weight, and they looked like a balloon that popped? They looked terrible?  Even though they lost many lbs, their skin hung grotesquely? I have.  A lady came into my clinic, wanting to lose over one hundred lbs.

Before I had time to introduce myself properly, she had unbuttoned, and pulled down her jeans.  She began crying, and said, “Can you help me with this”?  Her knee caps could not be seen because loose skin fell over them.  She literally “rolled” her stomach up, (Like a spam can), folded it and then pulled pants o to hold it in place.  She lifted her arm, and her arm stopped six entire inches before her skin did.  It was sad.  I found myself choking back tears, as she told me how she had lost and regained close to one hundred lbs twice. She hoped if she lost it again, the flab could go too.  I can’t imagine going through the trauma of losing one hundred lbs, suffering depression from regaining it, then doing it all again, then still needing to repeat it yet a third time. I asked her how she lost it before, and she had lost it on a high protein (Low carb) diet both times.  It had eaten her muscle tissue , and the flab was merely the external signs of internal damages
