Diets/Loss Facts

The Diets/Loss Industry is huge, with 80% of Americans being overweight and American people spending over $60 Billion a year in diets/loss efforts. Why is it that with all this money being spent and people being so obsessed with diets and weight loss, there are still so many people who are overweight?

This hub is designed to show the problems involved in diets/loss and why it's so hard to lose weight. In this article, diets/loss will be explored with attention to why the typical person will never lose weight without outside help.

Diets/Loss Problems

When diets/loss problems are encountered, they typically fall into these four categories:

  1.  Stress
  2.  Low Metabolism
  3.  Large Appetite and Cravings
  4.  Lack of Energy

With stress, people generally will store more abdominal fat and that is very ugly and unhealthy.  Not only can it be under the skin, but also, surrounding vital organs, making them less likely to work properly.  This is dangerous for your health and can cause organ failure.

Low metabolic rates can make it so that your calories are not burned as quickly and effectively as possible.  This makes it hard to lose weight.  It seems like no matter how little you eat, there is no weight lost.   Calories are burned at a very slow rate and it takes even more exercise to burn enough calories to keep your body in equilibrium.

Appetites and cravings make it hard to stick to a sensible diet.  When a person gets desperate and tries a very restrictive diet, it's almost certain to end in failure because it's so hard to be happy when you're ignoring your appetite and your cravings.  Eventually, people give in to their hunger and their cravings and blow their diets.  These are very strong urges and make it hard to stick to any type of restrictive diet.

A lack of energy makes it hard to exercise and feel good.  Sitting around makes people more tired and they feel less and less like exercising.  This leads to an even bigger energy drain and people will sometimes turn to sugar and harsh stimulants that leave them more tired than they started out.

Diets/Loss Success Tips

With all these factors stacked against people, it is nearly impossible to lose weight without addressing these concerns and getting help.  If you are serious about losing weight, you are sure to have more success if you follow these steps:

  • Find A Support System
  • Set a Goal and Write It Down
  • Track Your Progress
  • Exercise
  • Drink Water
  • Choose Good Foods
  • Take Multivitamins
  • Get Adequate Sleep
  • Don't Skip Meals and Avoid Late Night Snacks

Last, but not least, you may want to consider a diets/loss product that will help you control your appetite, curb your cravings, increase your fiber, and support a positive mood and increase your metabolic rate.

Amy,

Very good hub. I hope people don't discount the value of the support group you mention. Even if it's just one friend who has the same goals as you. It helps to stay motivated and on-track.

Take care,

Shayne
