Alternative Energy Sources

Alternative energy sources will need to be developed to provide for energy consumption in the future. There is a lot of alternative energy research into alternative energy sources and how they will be incorporated into our energy needs.

Most people know of traditional energy sources such as oil and natural gas, and even though more people are learning about alternative energy sources such as solar energy and wind power, there are many other alternative energy sources that people aren't as familiar with such as geothermal energy and biofuels.

Here's a review of some of the most popular alternative energy sources and some others that are becoming more economical to provide energy into the grid.

Alternative energy sources come from many different methods.

A quick overview of alternative energy sources are wind energy, solar power, geothermal energy, hydro power, tidal power, and biofuels.

Biofuels are one of the most misunderstood alternative energy sources available today.  What is a biofuel? How are biofuels produced?  Here's a video that will explain biofuels in much more detail:

Another misunderstood alternative energy source is geothermal energy.  Geothermal energy is energy harnessed from the earth.  Since the earth is constantly producing heat in it's core, capturing this energy source is a steady form of energy production.

All of these are different types of alternative energy that we will need to be developed and economical to provide for our alternative energy sources in the future.

Through research and corporations these technologies will advance and become more prominent to providing energy to the grid.

Excellent hub, very organised and concise. There is a lack of knowledge in the US regarding alternative energy. The various forms of alternative energy are key in becoming less dependent on fossil fuels.

That's true. As alternative energy becomes that much more prominent, more people will become aware and appreciate alternative forms of energy.
